The literature abounds with reports of cases of chronic nephrosis; observations on the clinical manifestations of the disease, its course, its frequent termination by peritonitis and its pathology are not uncommon. In the last ten years a tremendous amount of literature on lipoid nephrosis has been published. Since 1918 we have been carefully observing and following up children with lipoid nephrosis. Our first observations were published in 1922 1 and 1929. 2 It is not our intention to give an exhaustive treatise on the subject in this paper.
