Functional Materials for Environmental Energy Harvesting in Smart Agriculture via Triboelectric Nanogenerators

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This review explores functional and responsive materials for triboelectric nanogenerators (TENGs) in sustainable smart agriculture. It examines how particulate contamination and dirt affect charge transfer and efficiency. Environmental challenges and strategies to enhance durability and responsiveness are outlined, including active functional layers ...

Multiband Switchable Microwave Absorbing Metamaterials Based on Reconfigurable Kirigami–Origami

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A reconfigurable metamaterial featuring tunable microwave‐absorbing and load‐bearing performance is proposed. Stretchable kirigami and bistable origami configurations are integrated as actuating components, and the synergistic deformation mechanisms are systematically analyzed.

Compound Nerve Action Potential of the Distal Superficial Peroneal Nerve: Definition of a New Method and Normative Data

open access: yesNeurological Sciences and Neurophysiology
Introduction: Nerve conduction studies on the distal branches of the superficial peroneal nerve (SPN) are underrepresented in the literature. We aimed to describe a rapid and practical nerve conduction study of the distal branches of the SPN using strip ...

A 3D Biofabricated Disease Model Mimicking the Brain Extracellular Matrix Suitable to Characterize Intrinsic Neuronal Network Alterations in the Presence of a Breast Tumor Disseminated to the Brain

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A 3D disease model is developed using customized hyaluronic‐acid‐based hydrogels supplemented with extracellular matrix (ECM) proteins resembling brain ECM properties. Neurons, astrocytes, and tumor cells are used to mimic the native brain surrounding.

Electrophysiological findings for peripheral nerves of lower limb in women with stress urinary incontinence and non-specific low back pain

open access: yesScientific Reports
Stress urinary incontinence (SUI) and nonspecific low back pain (NSLBP) are prevalent conditions that significantly affect women’s quality of life. Recent studies have identified a connection between these conditions and dysfunction in the peripheral ...
