Nerve Fiber Analysis of the Facial Nerve
Annals of Otology, Rhinology & Laryngology, 1989Nerve fiber analyses were conducted on the human facial nerve with use of a new staining method (Luxol-PAS-hematoxylin stain; discriminative staining method) that permits simultaneous observation of the axon and surrounding myelin sheath. The following combination of equipment was employed in the study: An image-analyzing digitizer,

Nerve Repair–The Use of Nerve Isolation
Hand, 1970Abstract Our total experience of nerve isolation with millipore or silastic now extends to some seventy-five cases. Our clinical experience leads us to the view that the best results in nerve repair, including incised wounds in the forearm, are likely to accrue from primary isolation of the nerve followed by early secondary nerve repair.

Nerve Conduits for Nerve Repair or Reconstruction
Journal of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, 2012Advances in treating peripheral nerve lesions have resulted from research in nerve regeneration and the use biomaterials as well as synthetic materials. When direct tensionless repair of peripheral nerve lesions is not possible, nerve conduits may be used to bridge digital sensory nerve gaps of ≤3 cm. Nerve autograft is the benchmark for larger, longer,

Nerve cuffs for nerve repair and regeneration
2000In the nerve regeneration field, a 'nerve cuff' is commonly understood to mean a tubular conduit that is surgically installed around the proximal and distal stumps of a severed nerve. Such tubulization cuffs are commonly used to contain the regenerating axonal sprouts and orient and guide their elongation toward the distal stump (Fig. 1, 'T-cuff').

Inhibition of Nerve Cells and Nerve Centres
1968Publisher Summary Functional heterogeneity of neurones participating in the formation of central nervous processes was studied with the help of simultaneous recordings of the activity of several neurones whose topographic relations were determined by marking.
