Primary nervous-system lymphoma

The Lancet Oncology, 2001
Primary nervous system lymphoma (PNSL) is a rare type of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma confined to the nervous system. Although significant progress has been made in the treatment of PNSL over the past decade, patients with this disease are rarely cured. Until recently, whole brain radiation therapy has been the standard treatment for PNSL.

Nervous Tissue and Nervous System

1999
Nervous tissue the most complex of the four basic tissues, is composed of nerve cells, the neurons and supporting cells, the neuroglia. Unlike other basic tissues, the nervous tissue almost lacks intercellular substance. Anatomically, the nervous system can be divided into the central nervous system (CNS) and the peripheral nervous system (PNS).

Nervous system

2007
AbstractNervous systems are directional signalling systems. Several components of nervous systems are present in non-metazoan organisms, and sponges are able to use electrical signals without having a nervous system. Nervous systems evolved within Eumetazoa, first as a nerve net, but there were numerous tendencies to create heterogeneity within this ...

Neurosteroids: of the nervous system, by the nervous system, for the nervous system.

Recent progress in hormone research, 1997
Neurosteroids are synthesized in the central and peripheral nervous system, particularly but not exclusively in myelinating glial cells, from cholesterol or steroidal precursors imported from peripheral sources. They include 3 beta-hydroxy-delta 5-compounds, such as pregnenolone (PREG) and dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA), their sulfates, and reduced ...
