EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

Sum Rules and Asymptotic Behaviors for Optical Conductivity of Nonequilibrium Many-Electron Systems

open access: yes, 2011
For many-electron systems, we consider a nonequilibrium state (NES) that is driven by a pump field(s), which is either an optical field or a longitudinal electric field.

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

Nuclear export signal (NES) of transposases affects the transposition activity of mariner-like elements Ppmar1 and Ppmar2 of moso bamboo

open access: yesMobile DNA, 2019
Ppmar1 and Ppmar2 are two active mariner-like elements (MLEs) cloned from moso bamboo (Phyllostachys edulis (Carrière) J. Houz) genome possessing transposases that harbour nuclear export signal (NES) domain, but not any nuclear localization signal (NLS ...

Enhancement of stability in randomly switching potential with metastable state

open access: yes, 2004
The overdamped motion of a Brownian particle in randomly switching piece-wise metastable linear potential shows noise enhanced stability (NES): the noise stabilizes the metastable system and the system remains in this state for a longer time than in the ...

Dual PI3K/AKT and CDK4/6 inhibition reveals selective sensitivity in an SHH medulloblastoma stem cell model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Targeted therapy was evaluated in SHH medulloblastoma using neuroepithelial stem cell (NES) and tumor‐derived NES‐like (tNES) models in 2D monolayers and 3D spheroids. PI3K, AKT, and CDK4/6 inhibitors had minimal effects in NES but markedly reduced viability and growth and induced apoptosis in tNES cells, revealing distinct therapeutic vulnerabilities.

An Exponentially-Tight Approximate Factorization of the Joint PDF of Statistical Dependent Measurements in Wireless Sensor Networks

open access: yesIEEE Open Journal of the Communications Society
We consider the distributed detection problem of a temporally correlated random radio source signal using a wireless sensor network capable of measuring the energy of the received signals. It is well-known that optimal tests in the Neyman-Pearson setting
