Effects Of The 2015–2016 El Niño Event On Energy And CO2 Fluxes Of A Tropical Rainforest In Central Sulawesi, Indonesia

open access: yesGeography, Environment, Sustainability, 2019
The influence  of the very strong 2015–16 El Niño event on local and regional meteorological   conditions,  as  well as  on  energy and CO2   fluxes in  a  mountainous primary  tropical  rainforest  was investigated  using ERA-Interim  reanalysis  data ...

Climate and multiple dimensions of plant diversity regulate ecosystem carbon exchange along an elevational gradient

open access: yesEcosphere, 2021
The impacts of warming on communities and ecosystems are predicted to be significant in mountain ecosystems because physiological processes, including rates of carbon (C) cycling, are often more temperature‐sensitive in colder environments.

The effects of CO2, climate and land-use on terrestrial carbon balance, 1920-1992: An analysis with four process-based ecosystem models [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
The concurrent effects of increasing atmospheric CO2 concentration, climate variability, and cropland establishment and abandonment on terrestrial carbon storage between 1920 and 1992 were assessed using a standard simulation protocol with four process ...

CDK4/6 Inhibition Induces CD8+ T Cell Antitumor Immunity via MIF‐Induced Functional Orchestration of Tumor‐Associated Macrophages

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
CDK4/6 inhibition promotes CD8+ T cell expansion through tumor‐macrophage crosstalk by activating HIF‐1α and enhancing MIF‐CD44/CD74 signaling. This reprograms TAMs to boost MHC‐I antigen presentation, and CDK4/6 inhibitor‐trained M1 TAM supernatant therapy synergizes with low‐dose PD‐1 blockade to restore antitumor immunity.

Modeling Terrestrial Net Ecosystem Exchange Based on Deep Learning in China

open access: yesRemote Sensing
In estimating the global carbon cycle, the net ecosystem exchange (NEE) is crucial. The understanding of the mechanism of interaction between NEE and various environmental factors of ecosystems has been very limited, and the interactions between the ...

Modeling seasonal to annual carbon balance of Mer Bleue Bog, Ontario, Canada [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
Northern peatlands contain enormous quantities of organic carbon within a few meters of the atmosphere and play a significant role in the planetary carbon balance.

Direct and indirect effects of climatic variations on the interannual variability in net ecosystem exchange across terrestrial ecosystems

open access: yes, 2016
Climatic variables not only directly affect the interannual variability (IAV) in net ecosystem exchange of CO2 (NEE) but also indirectly drive it by changing the physiological parameters.

Aberrant SUMOylation Restricts the Targetable Cancer Immunopeptidome

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Pharmacological SUMOylation inhibition (SUMOi) counteracts tumor immune evasion by unmasking an immunogenic HLA‐I peptide and neoepitope repertoire. By restoring HLA‐I ligand availability through increased antigen processing and presentation, enhanced proteasomal cleavage, and modulated TAP1 peptide affinity, SUMOi boosts tumor immunogenicity ...

Multi‐year carbon budget of a mature commercial short rotation coppice willow plantation

open access: yesGCB Bioenergy, 2019
Energy derived from second generation perennial energy crops is projected to play an increasingly important role in the decarbonization of the energy sector. Such energy crops are expected to deliver net greenhouse gas emissions reductions through fossil

Carbonyl sulfide exchange in a temperate loblolly pine forest grown under ambient and elevated CO2 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Vegetation, soil and ecosystem level carbonyl sulfide (COS) exchange was observed at Duke Forest, a temperate loblolly pine forest, grown under ambient (Ring 1, R1) and elevated (Ring 2, R2) CO2.
