Synthesis and Characterization of a Cerium(IV) Coordination Polymer Containing Isonicotinic Acid Zwitterions

The new coordination polymer [Ce4O2(OH)2(NO3)2(C6H5NO2)8](NO3)8 is reported. It was discovered during a ligand screening experiment. Its crystallization was studied in situ via powder X‐ray diffraction and X‐ray absorption near‐edge structure spectroscopy.

Two air‐stable, photoluminescent lead oxide iodide carbodiimides, Pb9O2I8(CN2)3 and Pb16O5I14(CN2)4, were synthesized via solid‐state methods and structurally characterized, revealing heterocubane‐type units interconnected by iodide and (NCN)2‐ ligands.

Synthesis, Structure, and Eu3+‐Activated Photoluminescence of the Mixed‐Anion Carbodiimide NaLa2F3(CN2)2

NaLa2F3(CN2)2 forms via solid‐state metathesis of LaF3 and Na2(CN2) at 550°C and remains stable under ambient air and humidity. The structure is based on [La(NCN)5F4] polyhedra with interstitial Na+; revealing an unconventional red emission when doped with Eu3+.

Spatial distribution of 6s2 lone electron pair in Pb4Na(PO4)3 and stereochemical activity of the 6s2 electron cloud in lead‐bearing apatites

In lacunary apatite structure‐type Pb4Na(PO4)3, residual density attributable to the deformed 6s2 electron cloud is found in the vicinity of A2‐site Pb2+ on regular A2 triangle normal to c.
