A Decomposition of Random Net Present Values

1993
Some recent papers (Peccati (1989) and the references therein) have put forward a method for distinguishing the contributions (i) of each source of financing and (ii) of each time period to the net present value (from now on NPV) of a non-random financial project.

Net-present-value cost/time tradeoff

International Journal of Project Management, 1995
Abstract Cost/time tradeoff (CTTO) is used to increase the net benefit of a project by crashing selected activities. A new heuristic CTTO which balances cost, time and resources is presented. Most heuristic methods only balance two out of the three possible parameters at a time. The new method is called net-present-value CTTO.

Value Creation, Net Present Value, and Economic Profit

SSRN Electronic Journal, 2006
This technical note compares economic-profit (economic-value-added) and net-present-value techniques for evaluating corporate investments and performance. The note shows the relationship between the two approaches and sets out the conditions under which they yield the same conclusions about value creation.

Fuzzy numbers and net present value

Scandinavian Journal of Management, 1989
Abstract Net present value is a very common criterion in capital budgeting processes. Usually, uncertainty is treated by means of probability theory and net cash flows are included in the model as random variables. Nevertheless, the lack of accuracy in estimation of future net cash flows does not always follow a random variable but a fuzzy one.

Maximization of the Net Present Value

2011
This chapter studies a temporal network whose tasks give rise to cash flows. Positive cash flows denote cash inflows (e.g., received payments), whereas negative cash flows represent cash outflows (e.g., accrued costs). We present a method that maximizes the network’s net present value (NPV), which is defined as the discounted sum of all arising cash ...
