Seasonality of net radiation in two sub-basins of Paractu by the use of modis sensor products. [PDF]
The net radiation (Rn) represents the main source of energy for physical and chemical processes that occur in the surface-atmosphere interface, and it is used for air and soil heating, water transfer, in the form of vapor from the surface to the ...

Loss of IGF‐1R impairs DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin leading to defective end‐joining
IGF‐1R promotes radioresistance by facilitating DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin, enabling non‐homologous end‐joining (NHEJ) repair of double‐strand breaks. Inhibition or loss of IGF‐1R disrupts this recruitment to damage sites, driving compensatory reliance on microhomology‐mediated end‐joining (MMEJ) repair.

Energy exchange above the floodplain forest and spruce monoculture ecosystems was measured in Moravia in 1988 and 1989. The results showed that the floodplain forest ecosystem with better access to groundwater than the spruce monoculture evaporated more ...

Global aspects of radiation memory
Gravitational radiation has a memory effect represented by a net change in the relative positions of test particles. Both the linear and nonlinear sources proposed for this radiation memory are of the "electric" type, or E mode, as characterized by the ...

Evidence for polarised boron in Co-B and Fe-B alloys [PDF]
By exploiting the tunability of synchrotron radiation in measurements of spin-resolved photoemission it has proved possible to obtain information on the polarisation of the valence electrons of Co-B and Fe-B amorphous magnetic alloys, Both the spin ...

Evolutionarily divergent DUF4465 domains have a common vitamin B12‐binding function
We show that DUF4465 family proteins, widespread across bacteria from gut microbiomes, hydrothermal vents, and soil, share a common vitamin B12‐binding function. These augmented β‐jellyroll proteins bind vitamin B12 via extended loops. Our findings establish sequence‐diverse DUF4465 proteins as a widespread class of B12‐binding proteins, highlighting ...

Gravitational-Wave Recoil from the Ringdown Phase of Coalescing Black Hole Binaries
The gravitational recoil or "kick" of a black hole formed from the merger of two orbiting black holes, and caused by the anisotropic emission of gravitational radiation, is an astrophysically important phenomenon.

Chemotherapy side effects significantly impact cancer survivors' quality of life. Using protein levels in blood samples from breast cancer patients before and after 12 weeks of taxane treatment, we detected treatment‐dependent changes in calcium signaling and aging pathways associated with cancer recurrence.

A Kelvin-wave cascade on a vortex in superfluid $^4$He at a very low temperature [PDF]
A study by computer simulation is reported of the behaviour of a quantized vortex line at a very low temperature when there is continuous excitation of low-frequency Kelvin waves.
