Representation theory in chiral conformal field theory: from fields to observables

open access: yes, 2019
This article develops new techniques for understanding the relationship between the three different mathematical formulations of two-dimensional chiral conformal field theory: conformal nets (axiomatizing local observables), vertex operator algebras ...

Palestinians and Israelis Collaborate in Addressing the Historical Narratives of their Conflict

open access: yesQuest. Issues in Contemporary Jewish History, 2013
Since the summer of 2000, the Israeli-Palestinian conflict has been going through rough times on both the political and military levels. This generally applies as well to societal collaboration between the parties.

From Stable to Lab—Investigating Key Factors for Sudden Deaths Caused by Streptococcus suis

open access: yesPathogens, 2019
Swine stocks are endemically infected with the major porcine pathogen Streptococcus (S.) suis. The factors governing the transition from colonizing S. suis residing in the tonsils and the exacerbation of disease have not yet been elucidated.

Determination of the growth performance of Mytilus galloprovincialis in nets at Gökçeada Island

open access: yesThe European Zoological Journal, 2020
In this study, which was conducted between November 2017 and October 2018 at Gökçeada Island, the specific growth rate (SGR), a length–weight correlation with a regression to determine the growth pattern of mussel spat, and survival rates of ...

Function‐driven design of a surrogate interleukin‐2 receptor ligand

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Interleukin (IL)‐2 signaling can be achieved and precisely fine‐tuned through the affinity, distance, and orientation of the heterodimeric receptors with their ligands. We designed a biased IL‐2 surrogate ligand that selectively promotes effector T and natural killer cell activation and differentiation. Interleukin (IL) receptors play a pivotal role in

Wadge Degrees of $\omega$-Languages of Petri Nets

open access: yes, 2018
We prove that $\omega$-languages of (non-deterministic) Petri nets and $\omega$-languages of (non-deterministic) Turing machines have the same topological complexity: the Borel and Wadge hierarchies of the class of $\omega$-languages of (non ...

The newfound relationship between extrachromosomal DNAs and excised signal circles

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Extrachromosomal DNAs (ecDNAs) contribute to the progression of many human cancers. In addition, circular DNA by‐products of V(D)J recombination, excised signal circles (ESCs), have roles in cancer progression but have largely been overlooked. In this Review, we explore the roles of ecDNAs and ESCs in cancer development, and highlight why these ...

An upstream open reading frame regulates expression of the mitochondrial protein Slm35 and mitophagy flux

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

Extension of Petri Nets by Aspects to Apply the Model Driven Architecture Approach [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Within MDA models are usually created in the UML. However, one may prefer to\ud use different notations such as Petri-nets, for example, for modelling concurrency\ud and synchronization properties of systems. This paper claims that techniques that\ud are

Clinical significance of determining neutrophil extracellular traps in women with oncogynecological neoplasms

open access: yesАкушерство, гинекология и репродукция
The formation of neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs), described first in 2004 as a previously unknown neutrophil strategy for combating microbes, has been attracting a growing interest in research community.
