HSUPA Transport Network Congestion Control

2008 IEEE Globecom Workshops, 2008
The introduction of high speed uplink packet access (HSUPA) greatly improves achievable uplink bitrate but it presents new challenges to be solved in the radio access network. In the transport network, bandwidth reservation for HSUPA is not efficient and TCP cannot efficiently resolve congestion because of lower layer retransmissions.

Multi-level information fusion to alleviate network congestion

Information Fusion, 2020
While increasing urban traffic can be an indicator of development, this inevitably results in traffic congestion in urban road networks. Is there a way to manage traffic flow through the control of traffic signals such that the overall network congestion

HPCC: high precision congestion control

Conference on Applications, Technologies, Architectures, and Protocols for Computer Communication, 2019
Congestion control (CC) is the key to achieving ultra-low latency, high bandwidth and network stability in high-speed networks. From years of experience operating large-scale and high-speed RDMA networks, we find the existing high-speed CC schemes have ...

Classic Meets Modern: a Pragmatic Learning-Based Congestion Control for the Internet

Conference on Applications, Technologies, Architectures, and Protocols for Computer Communication, 2020
These days, taking the revolutionary approach of using clean-slate learning-based designs to completely replace the classic congestion control schemes for the Internet is gaining popularity.

Congestion Control for Radio Networks

2015
Nowadays, we have witnessed an exponential growth of the traffic generated by users in mobile communications networks. This need for a greater capacity in mobile networks raises problems for operators, because the demand for network capacity is not always accompanied by the evolution of the available technologies.

Congestion control in ATM networks

IEEE Global Telecommunications Conference GLOBECOM '91: Countdown to the New Millennium. Conference Record, 2002
A multifaceted congestion control technique is proposed for asynchronous transfer mode (ATM) broadband integrated services digital networks (B-ISDN). This technique is consistent with the framework outlined in the US contribution to the CCITT standards organization and is based on separating traffic into classes.

Congestion Control Mechanism in Networks

2017 International Conference on Current Trends in Computer, Electrical, Electronics and Communication (CTCEEC), 2017
Lots of unwanted data transmission make the network lead to a problem of congestion. One solution to reduce congestion is to understand the availability of bandwidth, processing power and memory. In real practice it is very difficult to know about the availability and then do the data transmission.

ATM networks: bandwidth allocation and congestion control

Proceedings of 8th Mediterranean Electrotechnical Conference on Industrial Applications in Power Systems, Computer Science and Telecommunications (MELECON 96), 2002
ATM provides a very high speed network infrastructure suitable for local, campus and wide area networks, capable of supporting a broad range of applications. There are still several areas of ATM which require further work. One such area is bandwidth allocation. In essence, bandwidth allocation is required in order to guarantee performance for real time
