A Wide Wavelength Range of 1 × 8 Optical Power Splitter With an Imbalance of Less Than ±1.0 dB on Silicon-on-Insulator Technology

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2017
A 1 × 8 optical splitter on silicon-on-insulator technology is demonstrated with less than ±1.0 dB imbalance for a wavelength range of 300 nm, in which, a multimode interference (MMI) structure is introduced into an optical ...

Network link dimensioning : a measurement & modeling based approach [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Adequate network link dimensioning requires a thorough insight into the interrelationship between: (i) the traffic offered (in terms of the average load, but also its fluctuations), (ii) the desired level of performance, and (iii) the required bandwidth ...

The neural crest‐associated gene ERRFI1 is involved in melanoma progression and resistance toward targeted therapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
ERRFI1, a neural crest (NC)‐associated gene, was upregulated in melanoma and negatively correlated with the expression of melanocytic differentiation markers and the susceptibility of melanoma cells toward BRAF inhibitors (BRAFi). Knocking down ERRFI1 significantly increased the sensitivity of melanoma cells to BRAFi.

Dual targeting of RET and SRC synergizes in RET fusion‐positive cancer cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Despite the strong activity of selective RET tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs), resistance of RET fusion‐positive (RET+) lung cancer and thyroid cancer frequently occurs and is mainly driven by RET‐independent bypass mechanisms. Son et al. show that SRC TKIs significantly inhibit PAK and AKT survival signaling and enhance the efficacy of RET TKIs in ...

State estimation applied to active distribution networks with minimal measurements [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Traditionally, state estimation is applied to transmission networks to improve security and redundancy of the measurement system. This paper describes the application of state estimation to distribution networks in order to extend the observability of ...

Transcriptional network analysis of PTEN‐protein‐deficient prostate tumors reveals robust stromal reprogramming and signs of senescent paracrine communication

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining PTEN protein assessment and transcriptomic profiling of prostate tumors, we uncovered a network enriched in senescence and extracellular matrix (ECM) programs associated with PTEN loss and conserved in a mouse model. We show that PTEN‐deficient cells trigger paracrine remodeling of the surrounding stroma and this information could help ...

Hardware-accelerated real-time IP flow measurement method for multi-core architecture

open access: yesTongxin xuebao, 2008
A hardware-accelerated real-time IP flow measurement method for multi-core architecture was proposed. IP datagrams were captured at wire speed of OC-192 links by FPGA.
