Self-monitoring for sensor networks
Proceedings of the 9th ACM international symposium on Mobile ad hoc networking and computing, 2008Local monitoring is an effective mechanism for the security of wireless sensor networks (WSNs). Existing schemes assume the existence of sufficient number of active nodes to carry out monitoring operations. Such an assumption, however, is often difficult for a large scale sensor network.

Performance Monitoring in Sensor Networks
2009 Sixth International Conference on Information Technology: New Generations, 2009The performance demands imposed on sensor networks carrying heterogeneous connections are challenging and can be satisfied via the deployment of highly dynamic statistical multiplexing protocols which honor the traffic Quality Of Service (QOS), while utilizing the network resources efficiently.

Monitoring system for EFIPSANS networks
2011 34th International Conference on Telecommunications and Signal Processing (TSP), 2011In this paper, we introduce a framework that enables the deployment of autonomous services over IPv6. Then we present in detail the monitoring tool implemented as a part of the EFIPSANS project that prototypes the monitoring function of the management plane and supports the execution and verification of the elements developed during this project.

Quantitative Network Monitoring with NetQRE
Proceedings of the Conference of the ACM Special Interest Group on Data Communication, 2017In network management today, dynamic updates are required for traffic engineering and for timely response to security threats. Decisions for such updates are based on monitoring network traffic to compute numerical quantities based on a variety of network and application-level performance metrics.

Scaling issues in network monitoring
Proceedings of the 2nd international workshop on Scalable stream processing system, 2008Monitoring a Tier-1 ISP's extremely large and diverse network places extreme scaling demands on a Data Stream Management System (DSMS). A typical application involves a large number stream queries executing on high volume streams, replicated at a large number of monitoring points, with the results fed to a stream warehouse supporting a large number of ...

Network Monitoring for Security and Forensics
2006Networked environment has grown hostile over the years. In order to guarantee the security of networks and the resources attached to networks it is necessary to constantly monitor and analyze network traffic. Increasing network bandwidth, however, prohibits the recording and analysis of raw network traffic.
