Bio‐Inspired Molecular Events in Poly(Ionic Liquids)

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Originating from dipolar and polar inter‐ and intra‐chain interactions of the building blocks, the topologies and morphologies of poly(ionic liquids) (PIL) govern their nano‐ and micro‐processibility. Modulating the interactions of cation‐anion pairs with aliphatic dipolar components enables the tunability of properties, facilitated by “bottom‐up ...

Creating Tailored and Adaptive Network Services with the Open Orchestration C-RAN Framework

open access: yes, 2018
Next generation wireless communications networks will leverage software-defined radio and networking technologies, combined with cloud and fog computing. A pool of resources can then be dynamically allocated to create personalized network services (NSs).

Connection rerouting/network reconfiguration

open access: yesFourth International Workshop on Design of Reliable Communication Networks, 2003. (DRCN 2003). Proceedings., 2004
Optical networks employing wavelength division multiplexing can carry huge volumes of traffic, hence maintaining a high level of service availability is important. This makes fault tolerance an important issue. In general the failed connections need to be rerouted.

Two‐Way Shape Memory Alloy and Polymer Composite Hybrid Smart Actuator With High Speed, Accuracy, and Reversible Deformation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Tailored thermo‐mechanical properties of shape memory polymer composites enable large reversible deformation as well as high actuation speed. Moreover, a structural design with curvature in the transverse direction achieves sub‐second actuation on heating and a larger recovery ratio on cooling. Finally, these newly developed smart two‐way actuators can

Using alloy to formally model and reason about an OpenFlow network switch [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Openflow provides a standard interface for separating a network into a data plane and a programmatic control plane. This enables easy network reconfiguration, but introduces the potential for programming bugs to cause network effects.

Shape‐Changing Multiphase Microparticles from Complex Liquid Crystal Emulsions

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Liquid crystalline network (LCN) microparticles are prepared from single, double (Janus), and triple emulsions through a simple and scalable bulk‐emulsification strategy. Under heating, the particles exhibit robust, reversible, large‐amplitude deformations that depend both on the morphology and the liquid crystals director field configuration.

Ferroelectric Quantum Dots for Retinomorphic In‐Sensor Computing

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This work has provided a protocol for fabricating retinomorphic phototransistors by integrating ferroelectric ligands with quantum dots. The resulting device combines ferroelectricity, optical responsiveness, and low‐power operation to enable adaptive signal amplification and high recognition accuracy under low‐light conditions, while supporting ...

Multi-objective feeder reconfiguration problem in the presence of distributed generation sources and capacitors units considering network voltage Security [PDF]

open access: yesمجله مدل سازی در مهندسی
Distribution network reconfiguration is one of the well-known and effective strategies in the distribution networks which performs by the status management of the network switches in order to obtain a new optimal configuration for the feeders. This study

Decoupling Dynamics and Crosslink Stability in Supramolecular Hydrogels Using Associative Exchange

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
How does reorganization impact the stability of supramolecular hydrogels? In contrast to dissociative crosslink exchange, implementing associative exchange in macroscale DNA hydrogels enables decoupling of reorganization dynamics from thermal and mechanical stability.

Applying tropos to socio-technical system design and runtime configuration [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Recent trends in Software Engineering have introduced the importance of reconsidering the traditional idea of software design as a socio-tecnical problem, where human agents are integral part of the system along with hardware and software components ...
