Engineering Biochar‐Derived Functional Materials for High‐Performance Supercapacitors: Design Principles, Mechanisms, and Scalable Strategies

open access: yesCarbon Energy, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Biochar has emerged as a useful and adaptable source of carbon for supercapacitor electrodes. Its value comes from the way biomass chemistry, thermal conversion, and activation conditions shape the resulting pore network, surface groups, and degree of carbon ordering.

Primary simplex method for flow network

open access: yes, 1990
.This paper describes an efficient network simplex algorithm for solving minimum-cost network flow problems. The algorithm derives from a theoretical characterization of the network topology of the basis embodied in a specially constructed basis tree ...

Modeling of machined surface roughness and optimization of cutting parameters in face milling [PDF]

open access: yesMetalurgija, 2008
The influence of cutting parameters on surface roughness in face milling has been examined. Cutting speed, feed rate and depth of cut have been taken into consideration as the influential factors.

Nonlinear permuted Granger causality

open access: yesCanadian Journal of Statistics, EarlyView.
Abstract Granger causality is an established, contentious method that seeks causal temporal connections via association and precedence. While not true causal inference, it assists in mapping networks of information flow that may warrant further study.

Upper bound limit analysis of coral reef limestone cavern roof stability incorporating a tension‐shear failure mechanism with tensile‐strength cut‐off

open access: yesDeep Underground Science and Engineering, EarlyView.
For the roof of coral reef limestone caverns, a novel tension‐shear composite failure mechanism was developed. The most critical tensile crack model was identified using a hybrid optimization algorithm, and the stability of the cavern roof was analyzed accordingly.

Clustering for faster network simplex pivots [PDF]

open access: yes, 1993
We show how to use tree clustering techniques to improve the time bounds for optimal pivot selection in the primal network simplex algorithm for minimum cost flow, and for pivot execution in the dual network simplex algorithm for the same problem, from O(
