Design of high-performance networked real-time control systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
The performance of a networked control system (NCS) is affected directly and indirectly by time delays generated in network communication. This paper addresses these time delays, their effects on system performance and the measures taken in an NCS design.

Septin 9 PB domains coordinate centrosome positioning and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Septin 9 polybasic domains couple phosphoinositide‐rich membrane binding to centrosome positioning, Golgi organization, and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity. Their loss disrupts this axis, causing centrosome mispositioning, Golgi fragmentation, reduced microtubule acetylation, and polarity inversion via upregulation of the ...

Optimal output-feedback control and separation principle for Markov jump linear systems modeling wireless networked control scenarios

open access: yes, 2021
The communication channels used to convey information between the components of wireless networked control systems (WNCSs) are subject to packet losses due to time-varying fading and interference.

Rab14 regulates the transport of human papillomavirus to the trans‐Golgi network for infectious cell entry

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals that the small GTPase Rab14 is necessary for human papillomavirus (HPV) infection and plays an essential role in the transport of virions to the trans‐Golgi network (TGN). HPV in the early endosome (EE), which harbors GTP‐bound Rab14, is transported to the TGN through the switch of Rab14 from its GTP‐bound to GDP‐bound form.

Effects of Permanent Bounded Cyber-Attacks on Networked Control Systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
peer reviewedIn this paper, the problem of permanent bounded cyber-attacks on networked control systems is treated. After a characterisation of malicious cyber attacks, the danger of permanent bounded cyber-attacks of two types is proved, the step ...

The ubiquitin‐proteasome system and autophagy as guardians of the cellular proteome

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This Perspective covers the three principles governing the crosstalk between the ubiquitin‐proteasome system and autophagy in cellular proteostasis: (1) a shared ubiquitin code routing substrates via shuttle factors or autophagy receptors; (2) spatial compartmentalization into phase‐separated degradation hubs and organelle‐specific modules (exemplified

A Novel Fault Early Warning Model Based on Fault Gene Table for Smart Distribution Grids

open access: yesEnergies, 2017
Since a smart distribution grid has a diversity of components and complicated topology; it is very hard to achieve fault early warning for each part. A fault early warning model for smart distribution grid combining a back propagation (BP) neural network

An unexpected alternative viologen electron mediator site in tungsten‐containing formate dehydrogenase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
An unexpected alternative interaction site for ethyl viologen was identified in formate dehydrogenase 1 from Methylorubrum extorquens. Combined mutagenesis, kinetic analysis, and docking revealed that aromatic residues near an iron–sulfur cluster enable flavin mononucleotide‐independent electron transfer, offering a framework for engineering improved ...
