Semantic Mapping with Low-Density Point-Clouds for Service Robots in Indoor Environments

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2020
The advancements in the robotic field have made it possible for service robots to increasingly become part of everyday indoor scenarios. Their ability to operate and reach defined goals depends on the perception and understanding of their surrounding ...

Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Sensor Drift Detection Based on Discrete Wavelet Transform and Grey Models

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
Drift detection has been a difficult problem in the field of sensor fault diagnosis. In this article, a sensor drift detection method using discrete wavelet transform (DWT) and a grey model GM(1,1) is proposed. DWT is used to separate the noise part from

A Robot Human-Like Learning Framework Applied to Unknown Environment Interaction

open access: yesComplexity, 2022
Learning from demonstration (LfD) is one of the promising approaches for fast robot programming. Most learning systems learn both movements and stiffness profiles from human demonstrations.

An inexact multiple-recourse hybrid-fuel management model with considering carbon reduction requirement for a biofuel-penetrated heating system

open access: yesEnergy Reports, 2023
In China’s goal of reaching carbon neutrality by 2060, the blending-biofuel-based heating technique is being used to reduce CO2 and air-pollutant emissions in existing district heating systems in northern China.

Design of Symbolic Controllers for Networked Control Systems [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Automatic Control, 2019
Networked Control Systems (NCS) are distributed systems where plants, sensors, actuators and controllers communicate over shared networks. Non-ideal behaviors of the communication network include variable sampling/transmission intervals and communication delays, packet losses, communication constraints and quantization errors.

The planar cell polarity protein Vangl2 interacts with the PDZ‐domains of Scribble but not with a unique PDZ‐like domain in Inturned

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

Communication-Computation Co-Optimized Federated Learning for Efficient Large-Model Embedding Training

open access: yesMathematics
With the rapid development of the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) and intelligent manufacturing, massive amounts of heterogeneous and non-independent, identically distributed (non-IID) data are continuously generated in industrial environments ...

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.
