A Future Internet architecture supporting multipath communication networks

2012 IEEE Network Operations and Management Symposium, 2012
The classic layered OSI reference model has reached its limits for the Internet of today. In this paper, we propose a clean-slate conceptual design of a new architecture as a contribution to the ongoing discussion on the Future Internet. We address the shortcomings of the layered model by redesigning the classical model.

A Study on WDM Network Architectures for Internet Backbone Networks in Korea

Optical Fiber Communication Conference and International Conference on Quantum Information, 2001
We estimated transmission circuits demand for Internet traffic in Korea and performed economic analysis of several WDM network architectures for accommodating the estimated demand. About 20 WDM nodes are sufficient to support the demand effectively.

Impact of Internet Peering on Network Architectures and Economics

Optical Fiber Communication Conference, 2014
The Internet backbone consists of ~6000 independent networks. The technology and economics of how these networks exchange data drives the location of data centers and the location and utilization of high capacity fiber links. We explain how Internet peering works, how it has evolved and trends that will influence future network deployments.

A Secure Networking Architecture for the Internet of Things

Advanced Materials Research, 2010
This article describes innovative and highly secure network architecture, dedicated to internet of things. We recommend that the infrastructure, there is a new label project, to support the upcoming launch of the standard Host Identity Protocol (HIP). Our main concern is to ensure the privacy of RFID tags, while enabling things to things communications.

Access network architecture and economics for Internet

ICCT'98. 1998 International Conference on Communication Technology. Proceedings (IEEE Cat. No.98EX243), 2002
This paper describes the trend of standardization of ADSL which is considered as a promising access technology, and presents the systematic and economical deployment strategy for access network based on ADSL technology. Especially, from the telecom operator's point of view, this paper proposes the two-phase evolution scenario, considering some factors:

NADIA: Network Accessible Device on the Internet Architecture

2002
Being accompanied by the recently widespread Internet, computer networks are becoming an indispensable tool for communication. On the other hand, more and more devices other than computers, such as Personal Digital Assistants(PDAs) or cellular phones are connected to the Internet are as well as computers. Moreover, even cameras to take real-time images

Software-defined wireless network architectures for the Internet-of-Things

2015 IEEE 40th Local Computer Networks Conference Workshops (LCN Workshops), 2015
The Internet-of-Things (IoT) envisions a world where billions of everyday objects and mobile devices communicate using a large number of interconnected wired and wireless networks. Maximizing the utilization of this paradigm requires fine-grained QoS support for differentiated application requirements, context-aware semantic information retrieval, and ...

Integrating Named Data Networking in Internet of Things architecture

2016 IEEE International Conference on Consumer Electronics-Taiwan (ICCE-TW), 2016
The Internet of Things (IoT) is different than the traditional Internet due to factors including (i) massive number of resource constrained devices, (ii) huge volume of small data exchange among physical things, (iii) autonomous configuration and management aspects and (iv) support for mobility.
