Performance Analysis of Abradable Coating Systems for Aircraft Gas Turbines

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Three CoNiCrAlY/YSZ/MgAl2O4 abradable liner configurations on a nickel‐superalloy are evaluated by thermal‐gradient cycling and incursion tests. Laser ablation of the bondcoat and/or Y2O3‐stabilized ZrO2 (YSZ) intermediate layer increases mechanical interlocking and bonding for thick topcoats.

A practical approach to network-based processing [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
The usage of general-purpose processors externally attached to routers to play virtually the role of active coprocessors seems a safe and cost-effective approach to add active network capabilities to existing routers.

Additive Manufacturing of Continuous Fibre Reinforced Composites: Process, Characterisation, Modelling, and Sustainability

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Additive manufacturing provides precise control over the placement of continuous fibres within polymer matrices, enabling customised mechanical performance in composite components. This article explores processing strategies, mechanical testing, and modelling approaches for additive manufactured continuous fibre‐reinforced composites.

Name Filter: A Countermeasure Against Information Leakage Attacks in Named Data Networking

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2018
Named data networking (NDN) has emerged as a future networking architecture having the potential to replace the Internet. In order to do so, the NDN needs to cope with inherent problems of the Internet, such as attacks that cause information leakage from

Soft Mechanical‐Electrical Logic Using Liquid Metal‐Filled 3D‐Printed Architectures

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
We present 3D‐printed soft mechanical–electrical logic elements that use liquid metal–filled silicone tubes actuated by thermoplastic polyurethane/polylactic acid (TPU/PLA) architectures to produce Boolean operations. Complementary normally open and normally closed unit cells perform repeatable binary transitions and can be combined into more complex ...

Oriented Multicast Routing Applied to Network Level Agent Search [PDF]

open access: yesDiscrete Mathematics & Theoretical Computer Science, 2001
Many protocols need a discovery mechanism to enable a given node to locate one or several nodes involved in the same communication. However, there is no protocol ready to fulfill this service at the network-layer.

Cross-Layer Peer-to-Peer Track Identification and Optimization Based on Active Networking [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
P2P applications appear to emerge as ultimate killer applications due to their ability to construct highly dynamic overlay topologies with rapidly-varying and unpredictable traffic dynamics, which can constitute a serious challenge even for significantly
