New contributions to the palaeoenvironmental framework of the Los Molles Formation (Early-to-Middle Jurassic), Neuquén Basin, based on palynological data

open access: yesFacies, 2020
Being the main oil-bearing basin of Argentina, the Neuquén Basin contains a well-documented stratigraphic record of continental and marine sedimentation during the Jurassic and Cretaceous in the western margin of Gondwana. Marine sedimentation started in

Simple Detection of Imperfect Charge Extraction at Contacts – Application to Perovskite Solar Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, Volume 15, Issue 48, December 23, 2025.
A novel analytical method is introduced to quantify imperfect charge extraction at solar cell interfaces using internal quantum efficiency measurements under weak and strong absorption. Applied to highly efficient perovskite solar cells, the method reveals imperfect interfacial collection, enabling rapid evaluation and detection of efficiency ...

Análisis normativo-institucional de los espacios verdes públicos ribereños en el Área Metropolitana de Neuquén (Argentina)

open access: yesEntorno Geografico, 2020
Los frentes de agua (waterfront en terminología inglesa) responden a una categoría emergente de espacio público. En el Área Metropolitana de Neuquén (Argentina) durante los últimos 10 años se ha promovido una región de cara al río. Elobjetivo del trabajo

Influence of pre-Andean history over Andean foreland deformation: structural styles in the Malargüe fold-and-thrust belt at 35ºS, Andes of Argentina [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
We present the first complete balanced cross-section of the Argentinean Andes at 35ºS. Based on an extensive field survey and limited sub-surface information, we constructed a structural model in which both the tectonic inversion of Mesozoic normal ...

Structural and Functional Properties of Araucaria araucana and Araucaria angustifolia Seed Proteins as a Plant‐Based Food Source

open access: yesSustainable Food Proteins, Volume 3, Issue 4, December 2025.
Morphologically, A. angustifolia seeds were significantly larger, while A. araucana exhibited more regular, triangular shapes. Proximate composition revealed a carbohydrate‐rich profile in both species, with a significantly higher lipid content in A. araucana. Amino acid analysis showed similar profiles, with high levels of aspartic and glutamic acids.

Low resistivity zones at contacts of igneous intrusions emplaced in organic‐rich formations and their implications on fluid flow and petroleum systems: A case study in the northern Neuquén Basin, Argentina

open access: yesBasin Research, 2019
Igneous sills and laccoliths emplaced in sedimentary basins may significantly impact petroleum systems, both positively and negatively. Igneous intrusions provide heat to maturate regionally immature organic‐rich host rocks, act as fractured reservoirs ...

Changes in Motion of the Nazca/Farallon Plate Over the Last 34 Million Years: Implications for Flat‐Slab Subduction and the Propagation of Plate Kinematic Changes

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Solid Earth, Volume 130, Issue 11, November 2025.
Abstract A high‐resolution sequence of finite‐rotation solutions spanning the past 34 Myr for the Nazca plate relative to the Pacific, Antarctic, and South American plates shows a pattern of 1–5‐Myr‐long intervals of nearly constant plate motion mostly separated by decelerations or accelerations lasting no longer than a few hundred thousand years ...

Multiple dinosaur egg-shell occurrence in an Upper Cretaceous nesting site from Patagonia [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
The discovery of hundreds of megaloolithid-type egg-clutches (some including embryos of an indeterminate species of titanosaur sauropods) in several stratigraphical levels of the Late Cretaceous nesting site of Auca Mahuevo (Chiappe et al., 2005 ...

Osteology of the unenlagiid theropod Neuquenraptor argentinus from the Late Cretaceous of Patagonia [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Neuquenraptor argentinus was described as the first undoubted deinonychosaurian theropod from Gondwana. The only known specimen is represented by a fragmentary skeleton, including a nearly complete foot, coming from Late Cretaceous beds of Neuquén ...

Assembling for Water: The Prefigurative Politics of Land Futures in Argentina

open access: yesAntipode, Volume 57, Issue 6, Page 2213-2240, November 2025.
Abstract As in other areas of Argentina, residents from the Norte Neuquino in the northwestern reaches of Patagonia are concerned about the recent advancements of extractivism onto their territories. Their analysis is clear: the environmental crisis is directly linked to a democratic one, and they engage in a wide range of actions to envision and enact
