Reachability Analysis of Convolutional Neural Networks

open access: yesCoRR, 2021
Deep convolutional neural networks have been widely employed as an effective technique to handle complex and practical problems. However, one of the fundamental problems is the lack of formal methods to analyze their behavior. To address this challenge, we propose an approach to compute the exact reachable sets of a network given an input domain, where

Feasibility and Safety of Somato‐Cognitive Coordination Therapy for Cerebellar Ataxia Following Pediatric Brain Tumor Treatment

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Cerebellar ataxia after pediatric brain tumor treatment can cause persistent gait, balance, and speech impairment, yet no established rehabilitation strategy exists. Somato‐cognitive coordination therapy (SCCT) is a virtual reality–guided intervention designed to promote sensorimotor integration through visually constrained reaching

Neural network chaos analysis

open access: yesNonlinear Analysis, 1998
The analysis of a chaos theory, in general, and a neural network chaos paradigm with a concrete interpretation by a simple neural network, in particular, allowed us to set up a new aspect in an arti cial neuronal approach of methodology: an analogy ...

The Role of Chemotherapy in Pediatric Myoepithelial Carcinoma: A Systematic Review of the Literature

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Myoepithelial carcinoma (MEC) in pediatric patients is a rare and aggressive malignancy characterized by heterogeneous morphology and variable molecular features. The optimal role of chemotherapy remains unclear. We conducted a systematic review according to PRISMA 2020 guidelines to evaluate chemotherapy in pediatric and young‐adult patients ...

Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.
