Diversity and complexity in neural organoids

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

Methodology for detecting for informative features before earthquakes in the electromagnetic regular noise background of the VLF range [PDF]

open access: yesГеосистемы переходных зон
The study addresses the pressing scientific challenge of identifying informative features in the electromagnetic regular noise background of the VLF (very low frequency) range, which is related to creating a model for earthquake prediction.

Approximation Analysis of Convolutional Neural Networks

open access: yesEast Asian Journal on Applied Mathematics, 2023
This paper is on the approximation analysis of convolutional neural networks (CNNs). A typical CNN can be defined as the composition \(g\circ T:\Omega\subset \mathbb{R}^n\rightarrow \mathbb{R}\) of a feature map \(T\) and a classifier \(g\), where \(T=\mathbf{F}_{L,\sigma}\circ\cdots \circ \mathbf{F}_{1,\sigma}\) is the feature exactor consisting \(L\)

Epigenetic blind spots – the role of DNA methylation dynamics in stem cell‐based models of embryogenesis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Embryo‐like structures (stembryos) are an innovative tool, but they are hindered by experimental variability and limited developmental potential. DNA methylation is crucial for mammalian development, but its status in stembryo models is poorly characterized.

The human gut microbiome across the life course

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Despite significant individual variation and continuous change throughout life, the human gut microbiome follows some life stage‐specific trends. This article provides a brief overview of how gut microbiome composition shifts across different phases of life. Created in BioRender. Özkurt, E. (2026) https://BioRender.com/8q4nrnc.

Septin 9 PB domains coordinate centrosome positioning and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Septin 9 polybasic domains couple phosphoinositide‐rich membrane binding to centrosome positioning, Golgi organization, and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity. Their loss disrupts this axis, causing centrosome mispositioning, Golgi fragmentation, reduced microtubule acetylation, and polarity inversion via upregulation of the ...

Microbiome−host proteostasis crosstalk—An emerging perspective on mechanisms and interventions toward healthy longevity

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Proteostasis and the gut microbiota play a key role in shaping host physiology. Microbiota‐derived metabolites, vitamins, and RNA modulate host proteostasis. Findings from model systems, including C. elegans, indicate microbes can either stabilize or disrupt host proteostasis.
