Explicação em Neurociência: uma análise crítica do modelo mecanístico-causal multinivelar de Carl Craver

open access: yesPrincipia: An International Journal of Epistemology, 2015
A abordagem mais significativa das explicações em neurociência é atualmente o modelo causal-mecanicista (modelo MMM) formulado por Carl Craver. Segundo ele as explicações em neurociência descrevem mecanismos, em outras palavras, ele indica como as ...

Finger Temperature: A Psychophysiological Assessment of the Attentional State

open access: yesFrontiers in Human Neuroscience, 2019
Attention is a key cognitive phenomenon that is studied to understand cognitive disorders or even to estimate workloads to prevent accidents. Usually, it is studied using brain activity, even though it has many psychophysiological correlates.

Transient Cytoskeletal Anisotropy Encodes Short‐Term Mechanical Memory in Glioblastoma Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The same mechanical deformation can produce distinct cytoskeletal states depending on loading history. Experiments and constitutive modeling reveal that transient actin–vimentin anisotropy stores mechanical information and governs short‐term mechanical memory in glioblastoma cells.

Multisession Anodal tDCS on the Right Temporo-Parietal Junction Improves Mentalizing Processes in Adults with Autistic Traits

open access: yesBrain Sciences, 2021
Persons with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) have impaired mentalizing skills. In this study, a group of persons with ASD traits (high-AQ scores) initially received sham tDCS before completing a pre-test in two mentalizing tasks: false belief and self ...
