Neuroendocrine differentiation in a case of cervical cancer.
Neuroendocrine neoplasms may occur in the uterine cervix, although rarely; it accounts for 0.5-1% of all malignant tumors of the uterine cervix. A case report of an Ethiopian female presented at the Gynecology Out-Patient Clinic at Jimma University Hospital, complaining from irregular vaginal bleeding over the previous three months.

Role of SoxE transcription factors in development and disease
Abstract Sox8, Sox9, and Sox10 arose by multiple rounds of genome duplications from a single SoxE gene in ancestral vertebrates. In this review, we will briefly discuss the molecular structure and function of SoxE transcription factors and their evolutionary origin. We will then discuss their expression, function, and developmental disorders.

ABSTRACT Objective To identify data‐driven body composition phenotypes in patients with moderate‐to‐extreme anorexia nervosa (AN) using machine learning (ML) clustering of bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA) parameters, and to test whether these phenotypes have specific psychopathological and childhood trauma profiles while correlating with early ...

Apoptosis in hepatocellular carcinomas with neuroendocrine differentiation.
We have studied apoptosis in a subset of thirty hepatocellular carcinomas (HCCs) exhibiting neuroendocrine differentiation (ND). Apoptosis was assessed by use of in situ DNA end labelling, and was quantified employing a TdT labelling index. It turned out that apoptosis occurred in HCCs with ND, albeit at different rates.

Transcriptomic analysis reveals distinct expression patterns in focal cortical dysplasia
Abstract Objective Focal cortical dysplasia (FCD) is a common cause of drug‐resistant epilepsy in children and adults and exhibits substantial clinical and histopathological heterogeneity. However, morphological classification alone does not fully explain variability in epileptogenicity, disease severity, or treatment response.

Abstract The intestinal microbiome plays a pivotal role in maintaining host health through its involvement in gastrointestinal, immune, and central nervous system (CNS) functions. Recent evidence underscores the bidirectional communication between the microbiota, the gut, and the brain and the impact of this axis on neurological diseases, including ...

Abstract Infantile epilepsy spasms syndrome (IESS), formerly known as infantile spasms or West Syndrome, is a severe epilepsy syndrome affecting about 3 in 10,000 newborns in the United States. Characterized by clusters of epileptic spasms, interictal hypsarrhythmia, and developmental delays, IESS has diverse causes, including structural‐metabolic ...
