Pancreatic Neuroendocrine Neoplasms
Surgical Pathology Clinics, 2014Pancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms (Pan-NENs) are rare but clinically important lesions. Pan-NENs are known for and often categorized by their capacity to produce clinical syndromes mediated by the production of hormones. Despite sometimes presenting dramatically from excessive hormone production, not all Pan-NENs produce functional hormone, and they ...

Pancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms (PanNENs) are tumors with neuroendocrine differentiation and are divided into functioning (syndromic) or non-functioning based on the clinical syndromes. Insulinomas are the most common functioning NETs. Non-functioning neuroendocrine tumors (NFNETs) account for up to 70–80% of all pancreatic NTEs.

Neuroendocrine Neoplasms of the Lung
Pathology Patterns Reviews, 2001Neuroendocrine tumors of the lung continue to be difficult nosologic and diagnostic problems, centering on the time-honored terms of "carcinoid," "atypical carcinoid," and "small cell carcinoma." Problems that are encountered in the classification of such neoplasms revolve around the differing criteria that have been advanced for their definition and ...

Gastric neuroendocrine neoplasms
Nature Reviews Disease PrimersGastric neuroendocrine neoplasms (gNENs) display peculiar site-specific features among all NENs. Their incidence and prevalence have been rising in the past few decades. gNENs comprise gastric neuroendocrine carcinomas (gNECs) and gastric neuroendocrine tumours (gNETs), the latter further classified into three types. Type I anatype II gNETs are gastrin-

Mixed Neuroendocrine-Non-Neuroendocrine Neoplasms of the Pancreas
Surgical Pathology Clinics, 2022Pancreatic mixed neuroendocrine-non-neuroendocrine neoplasms (MiNENs) are rare neoplasms, composed of at least two components. The neuroendocrine part is always present. Histology is the most important tool for the diagnosis, but in the case of MiNEN, it is also important for the use of immunohistochemistry, which should include neuroendocrine but also

Sarcopenia and Neuroendocrine Neoplasms
Current Oncology ReportsTo summarise the current literature regarding the presence of sarcopenia in patients with neuroendocrine neoplasms (NENs). These are uncommon cancers separated into well-differentiated neuroendocrine tumours (NETs) and poorly differentiated neuroendocrine carcinoma (NECs).

A uniform classification system has been proposed for all neuroendocrine neoplasms, despite organ-specific differences, with the intent to allow pathologists and clinicians to manage their patients with NENs consistently, and to facilitate comparisons between the different entities falling into this category of neoplasms.
