Abstract Neurogenic pulmonary edema is a potential complication of severe central nervous system insult. In the patient described, neurogenic pulmonary edema resulted from gunshot injuries to the head. Aggressive supportive care and intravenous administration of dopamine successfully resolved this pulmonary complication.

Takotsubo cardiomyopathy in aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage: A case report [PDF]
Introduction. Subarachnoid haemorrhage (SAH) can be followed by cardiac abnormalities. We describe a patient with Takotsubo cardiomyopathy and neurogenic pulmonary edema (NPE) after aneurysmal SAH. Case report. A previously healthy, postmenopausal woman,

Neurogenic pulmonary edema following intracranial coil embolization for subarachnoid hemorrhage -A case report- [PDF]
Neurogenic pulmonary edema (NPE) is a well-known complication of acute central neurologic injury, particularly aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage. Both increased intracranial pressure and severe over-activation of the sympathetic nervous system seem to ...

The regulation of stem cell fate and its application in neural regeneration
Regulating stem cell fate is crucial for neural regeneration. This review summarizes key physical, biological, and chemical strategies and their applications in repairing nerve injuries, providing new insights for regenerative medicine. Abstract Regulating the fate of stem cells (SCs) is a key technical problem in the field of regenerative medicine and

Abstract figure legend Calmodulin (CaM) is a ubiquitous calcium (Ca2+) sensor that translates intracellular Ca2+ signals into modulation of hundreds of effector proteins including ion channels. CaM is increasingly recognized as a key regulator of the transient receptor potential (TRP) channel family, yet the underlying ‘calmodulation playbook’ is only ...

Following intracerebral hemorrhage, sympathetic overactivation drives acute lung injury via norepinephrine‐induced VPS35 upregulation. VPS35 promotes PIEZO2‐mediated calcium influx and impairs ATP2A2‐dependent ER calcium reuptake, triggering ER stress and NLRP3‐pyroptosis.
