Dysregulation of Myelination in Focal Cortical Dysplasia Type II of the Human Frontal Lobe
Main Points FCD IIa shows a normal radial myelin fiber pattern, thinner myelin sheaths and reduced myelin synthesis. FCD IIb has disorganized myelinated fibers, thicker myelin sheaths, more oligodendrocytes, and an increased transcription rate of myelin genes.
