Medicine‐Food Plant Polysaccharides Modulate Diabetes and Diabetic Complications Through Maintaining Gut Function: A Review

open access: yesFood Frontiers, EarlyView.
Polysaccharides derived from medicine‐food plants restore intestinal barrier integrity and microbiota balance while modulating short‐chain fatty acid levels. These modifications significantly alleviate diabetes and its complications, including nephropathy, retinopathy, cardiovascular disease, and neuropathy.

Research progress of neurovascular units involved in ischemic stroke

open access: yesIbrain, EarlyView.
The brain receives less blood when an ischemic stroke develops, which damages neurons and leads to an increased release of Pro‐inflammatory mediators that activate neurovascular unit (NVU). When the tight junctions are broken and the basement membrane is disrupted by matrix metalloproteinases produced by active endothelial and pericellular cells ...

The epidemiology and pathogenesis of uterine fibroids

open access: yesInternational Journal of Gynecology &Obstetrics, EarlyView.
Abstract Uterine fibroids, or leiomyomas, are the most common benign tumors of the female reproductive tract, ultimately affecting a majority of women worldwide, primarily during their reproductive years. While their origin appears genetic, manifesting in monoclonal tumors, diverse features and mechanisms contribute to their growth and further ...

Endothelial derived microvesicles modulate cerebrovascular and brain aging via MiR‐17‐5p and the biomarker potential in vascular aging

open access: yesInterdisciplinary Medicine, EarlyView.
Y.EMVs released from young endothelial cells (ECs) prevented vascular aging by ameliorating ECs senescence and dysfunction via regulating miR‐17‐5p, and subsequently inhibited brain aging. O.EMVs released from the senescent ECs played the opposite roles, accompanied with a significant increase of EMVs level and downregulation of miR‐17‐5p encapsulated ...
