Thoracic outlet syndrome: single-center experience on the transaxillary approach with the aid of the TRIMANO Arthrex arm

open access: yesJournal of Vascular Surgery Cases and Innovative Techniques
Thoracic outlet syndrome (TOS) is a pathology caused by compression on the neurovascular bundle by the first rib. The treatment of TOS is conservative management by analgesia and physiotherapy; however, if there is no response to conservative treatment ...

Novel anatomical identification of nerve-sparing radical prostatectomy: fascial-sparing radical prostatectomy

open access: yesProstate International, 2014
Radical prostatectomy (RP) became a first choice of treatment for prostate cancer after the advance in nerve-sparing techniques. However, the difficult technical details still involved in nerve-sparing RP (nsRP) can invite unwanted complications ...

Alkaline Phosphatase‐Activated NIR‐II AIEgens Nanosystem for Surgical and Postoperative Closed‐Loop Therapy of Advanced Osteosarcoma

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study designed a tumor microenvironment‐responsive AIEgen nanoparticle for near‐infrared photoimmunotherapy, which inhibits primary tumors and metastasis by promoting pyroptosis and suppressing aerobic glycolysis. ABSTRACT In advanced osteosarcoma, tumor invasion often prevents complete resection, and immunotherapy is limited by the tumor's ...

Crossing the Blood–Brain Barrier with Molecularly Imprinted Polymeric Nanocarriers: An Emerging Frontier in Brain Disease Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Molecularly imprinted polymeric nanocarriers (nanoMIPs) offer robust, antibody‐mimetic platforms to overcome the blood‐brain barrier. The article surveys nanoMIP design and ligand‐directed surface engineering that harness receptor‐mediated transcytosis, and highlights therapeutic and diagnostic applications in neurodegeneration, brain tumors and ...

Identification of the location of the A1 pulley combining palpation technique with palm landmarks and percutaneous release of A1 pulley with a 19-gauge needle: A cadaveric study

open access: yesJournal of Orthopaedic Surgery, 2017
The aims of this study were to identify the location of the A1 pulley combining palpation technique with superficial palm landmarks and to determine the efficacy and safety of A1 pulley percutaneous release with a 19-gauge needle.

A Biomimetic Norepinephrine‐Loaded Aligned Mineralized Collagen Scaffold for Coordinated Neurovascular, Osteogenic, and Immunomodulatory Repair of Critical‐Sized Bone Defects

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Inspired by the composition and structure of native bone tissue and its complex interplay of biological signals, a norepinephrine‐loaded biomimetic mineralized electrocompacted collagen scaffold (NE‐MEC) is developed capable of simultaneously supporting osteogenesis, neural repair, angiogenesis, and immune modulation.

Identification of a Force‐Induced Sox9+Acan+ Transitional Subpopulation Linked to FGF2–FGFR2–ERK Signaling in Orthodontic Bone Remodeling

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Mechanical loading induces a previously unrecognized Sox9+Acan+ transitional mesenchymal cell population in the periodontal ligament that promotes osteoclastogenesis via the FGF2–FGFR2–ERK axis. Targeting this mechanoresponsive stromal population using a localized GelMA@siRNA delivery strategy attenuates pathological osteoclast overactivation and root ...

Enlarged Iliopsoas Bursa Compressing the Femoral Nerve Resulting in Femoral Mononeuropathy and Denervation Edema

open access: yesIndian Journal of Radiology and Imaging
Iliopsoas bursitis, although not rare, may manifest clinically as a detectable mass in the groin area. This condition has the potential to apply pressure on the adjacent femoral neurovascular bundle, leading to isolated mononeuropathy.

Amelioration of Post‐Stroke Edema and Microcirculatory Dysfunction via Targeted AQP4 Inhibition While Preserving the Glymphatic System

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Compared to untargeted therapy, the targeted nanocarrier, Angiopep‐2‐conjugated Lipid Nanoparticle (A‐LNP) loaded with TGN‐020 (TGN), selectively accumulated in stroke‐injured regions. It suppressed local aquaporin‐4 (AQP4) overexpression, thereby alleviating cerebral edema and hypoperfusion while preserving global glymphatic clearance.
