With the increasing penetration of distributed generation, electric vehicles and single-phase loads in the low-voltage distribution network, flexible interconnected systems face more prominent three-phase unbalance and direct-current (DC)-side voltage ...

Artificial molecular machines and motors—Design and control of nanoscale motion
Molecules are constantly moving because of thermal fluctuations, but random motion alone cannot be exploited to perform directional tasks. Artificial molecular machines use chemical, electrical, or light energy to bias this motion. Molecular shuttles, rotary motors, and supramolecular pumps illustrate how nanoscale movement can be controlled and ...

Active Thermal Control in Neutral-Point-Clamped Multilevel Converters based on Switching-Cell Arrays
Neutral-Point-Clamped multilevel converters are nowadays a suitable solution to implement low-medium voltage and power applications, thanks to their intrinsic superior voltage and current quality.

Heterodimeric amino acid transporters consist of SLC7 and SLC3 family proteins arranged in a conserved structural organization. They regulate nutrient transport across cell membranes, supporting essential cellular functions. These transporters also contribute to xenobiotic/drug uptake and distribution.

The Role of Causal Processes in the Neutral and Nearly Neutral Theories [PDF]
In this paper, we will consider how the neutral and nearly neutral theories of molecular evolution differ from each other as a means for addressing causal processes associated with random drift and natural selection.

Fixed-Frequency 3V-MPCC Strategy for Single-Phase NPC Inverters With Multi-Objective Optimization
Traditional finite control set model predictive control for single-phase three-level neutral-point-clamped inverters suffers from three main issues: non-constant switching frequency, high harmonic distortion, and neutral-point voltage fluctuations.

Transient oligomers formed by intrinsically disordered proteins may be ‘invisible’ to direct detection yet remain accessible to solution NMR through equilibrium‐exchange measurements and pressure‐jump experiments. Complementary methods report on mass, stoichiometry, selected distance distributions, morphology, and internal packing.

Dormant cancer cells can hide in distant organs for years, evading treatment and the immune system. This review highlights how signals from the surrounding tissue and immune environment keep these cells inactive or trigger their reawakening. Understanding these mechanisms may help develop therapies to eliminate or control dormant cells and prevent ...

Loss of proton‐sensing TDAG8 increases tumor progression in mouse models of colon cancer
Loss of the pH‐sensing receptor TDAG8 accelerates colorectal cancer progression in mice. Animals lacking TDAG8 expression had increased tumor growth, DNA damage, and recruitment of tumor‐associated immune cells, including macrophages, neutrophils, and monocytes.

Loss comparison of 2 and 3-level inverter topologies
This paper investigates semiconductor and DC-link capacitor losses in two two-level and two three-level voltage source inverters. The components of the four inverters are selected to have appropriate voltage and current ratings.
