Analysis of Neutral-Point Voltage Balancing in Three-Ports Active Neutral-Point-Clamped Converter
2019 IEEE 15th Brazilian Power Electronics Conference and 5th IEEE Southern Power Electronics Conference (COBEP/SPEC), 2019This paper investigates the neutral-point (NP) voltage balancing problem from the perspective of the space vector modulation for different operating conditions of the recently proposed Three-ports Active Neutral-Point-Clamped (ANPC-3P) topology, which can integrate one energy storage system per inverter leg.

Neutral-Point Voltage Reduction
2017A three-level converter has two DC-links and it makes output voltage with three levels. If the two DC-link voltages are not the same, the output voltage is distorted.

Control of a four-level active neutral point clamped converter with neutral point voltage balance
2016 IEEE 8th International Power Electronics and Motion Control Conference (IPEMC-ECCE Asia), 2016In this paper, a carrier-based modulation method with optimal zero-sequence signal injection has been devised to modulate the converter and regulate the DC-link neutral points' voltages of a four-level active neutral point clamped (ANPC) converter. With the proposed control strategy, the two neutral points' voltages can be well controlled with a back ...

Three-level Neutral-Point-Clamped inverter has inherent problem which is the neutral-point voltage fluctuation caused by the neutral-point current that flows into or out from the neutral-point. Even though the neutral point voltage is balanced with certain method, the oscillation of neutral point voltage is still remains due to the output phase current.

According to different clamping methods, nine modes (C_MODE1-9) of the traditional discontinuous pulsewidth modulation (DPWM) for neutral-point-clamped three-level converter have been revealed. Since traditional DPWM cannot balance neutral point (NP) voltage under the full range of modulation index (MI) and power factor (PF), two extended modes (E ...

This paper shows the equivalent of different strategies in neutral point voltage control under different modulation methods --- CBPWM and SVPWM. With this concept we can go from one strategy in CBPWM to another in SVPWM freely, and also newly found strategies that will be used not only in CBPWM but also in SVPWM.

Neutral-point-clamped inverter with improved voltage waveform and control range
Proceedings of IECON '93 - 19th Annual Conference of IEEE Industrial Electronics, 1995A new control method for neutral-point-clamped (NPC) inverters based on closed-loop regulation of the line-to-line output voltages is proposed. The method uses independent hysteresis comparator controllers to regulate the direct and quadrature axis components of the three phase output voltages.

An improved voltage vector control method for Neutral-Point-Clamped inverters
Proceedings of 1994 Power Electronics Specialist Conference - PESC'94, 1995A new PWM method for Neutral-Point-Clamped (NPC) inverters is introduced. The method is based on closed-loop control of the line-to-line voltage vectors. It uses independent hysteresis comparator controllers to regulate the direct and quadrature axis components of the three phase output voltages.
