Crucial parameters for precise copy number variation detection in formalin‐fixed paraffin‐embedded solid cancer samples

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study shows that copy number variations (CNVs) can be reliably detected in formalin‐fixed paraffin‐embedded (FFPE) solid cancer samples using ultra‐low‐pass whole‐genome sequencing, provided that key (pre)‐analytical parameters are optimized.

Comparison between two VSC-HVDC transmission systems technologies : modular and neutral point clamped multilevel converter [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
The paper presents a detail comparison between two voltage source converter high voltage dc transmission systems, the first is based on neutral point-clamped (also known as HVDC-Light) and the second is based on innovative modular multilevel converter ...

Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 increases metastatic potential and aggressiveness in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aldehyde dehydrogenase 1A1 (ALDH1A1) is a cancer stem cell marker in several malignancies. We established a novel epithelial cell line from rectal adenocarcinoma with unique overexpression of this enzyme. Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 led to increased invasive capacity and metastatic potential, the inhibition of proliferation activity, and ultimately ...

DC voltage balancing for neutral point clamped active PWM converter

open access: yesInternational Journal of Industrial Electronics and Drives, 2015
This paper presents a unity power factor controller of three phase neutral point clamped (NPC) AC-DC PWM converter. A simplified current controlled scheme to control the DC link voltage, to ensure unity power factor operation and to control neutral point potential (NPP) of the converter is designed and developed for three-phase, three-level NPC AC-DC ...

The origin of switching noise in GaAs/AlGaAs lateral gated devices [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
We have studied the origin of switching (telegraph) noise at low temperature in lateral quantum structures defined electrostatically in GaAs/AlGaAs heterostructures by surface gates.

Rethinking plastic waste: innovations in enzymatic breakdown of oil‐based polyesters and bioplastics

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Plastic pollution remains a critical environmental challenge, and current mechanical and chemical recycling methods are insufficient to achieve a fully circular economy. This review highlights recent breakthroughs in the enzymatic depolymerization of both oil‐derived polyesters and bioplastics, including high‐throughput protein engineering, de novo ...

Influence of Digital Delay on the Zero-Sequence Voltage Injection Neutral-Point Potential Balance Algorithm for Three-Level NPC Inverters and Its Compensation Method

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
Three-level neutral-point-clamped (NPC) inverters need to ensure the balance of the neutral-point (NP) potential during operation. The zero-sequence voltage injection balance algorithms based on the carrier-based pulse width modulation (CBPWM) have been ...

dUTPase is essential in zebrafish development and possesses several single‐nucleotide variants with pronounced structural and functional consequences

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
dUTPases are involved in balancing the appropriate nucleotide pools. We showed that dUTPase is essential for normal development in zebrafish. The different zebrafish genomes contain several single‐nucleotide variations (SNPs) of the dut gene. One of the dUTPase variants displayed drastically lower protein stability and catalytic efficiency as compared ...

Improving the Performance of Low Voltage Networks by an Optimized Unbalance Operation of Three-Phase Distributed Generators [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
This work focuses on using the full potential of PV inverters in order to improve the efficiency of low voltage networks. More specifically, the independent per-phase control capability of PV three-phase four-wire inverters, which are able to inject ...
