Discovery of a Large-scale H i Plume in the NGC 7194 Group
We present the discovery of a new H i structure in the NGC 7194 group from the observations using the Karl G. Jansky Very Large Array. NGC 7194 group is a nearby ( z ∼ 0.027) small galaxy group with five quiescent members.

Chemical Composition of the Early Universe
A prediction of standard inflationary cosmology is that the elemental composition of the medium out of which the earliest stars and galaxies condensed consisted primarily of hydrogen and helium 4He with small admixtures of deuterium, lithium 7Li, and 3He.

Upper Limits on the Space Density of Intergalactic Neutral Hydrogen Clouds
A survey in the 21 cm line of H I of 153 square degrees of sky out in a distance corresponding to 3000 km s/sup -1/ and with a limiting sensitivity of 3 x 10/sup 6/D/sup 2/ M/sub sun/ has failed to turn up any convincing detections that are unassociated with a visible counterpart.

Magnetic Textiles: A Review of Materials, Fabrication, Properties, and Applications
Magnetic textiles (M‐textiles) are emerging as a programmable materials platform that merges magnetic matter with hierarchical textile structures. This article consolidates magnetic material classes, textile architectures, and fabrication and magnetization strategies, revealing structure–property–function relationships that govern magneto‐mechanical ...

The Hi Mass Function of Star-forming Galaxies at z ≈ 1
We present the first estimate, based on direct H i 21 cm observations, of the H i mass function (H i MF) of star-forming galaxies at z ≈ 1, obtained by combining our measurement of the scaling relation between H i mass ( M _H _i ) and B -band luminosity (

C+/H2 Gas in Star-Forming Clouds and Galaxies
We present analytic theory for the total column density of singly ionized carbon (C+) in the optically thick photon dominated regions (PDRs) of far-UV irradiated (star-forming) molecular clouds.

Extragalactic diffuse neutral hydrogen clouds - Probes of a hot intergalactic medium
Extragalactic diffuse neutral hydrogen clouds constitute a probe of the intergalactic gas by both thermal and dynamical interaction with the surrounding medium. Clouds recently discovered by Mathewson et al. in the Sculptor group place stringent limits on the density and temperature of any intergalactic gas unless the clouds are very highly clumped ...

ABSTRACT Periodontitis, a chronic inflammatory disease initiated and sustained by plaque microorganisms and host immune response, remains an intractable oral disease and a leading cause of tooth loss worldwide. Traditional mechanical debridement and adjunctive antibiotic or antiseptic therapy often shows limited efficacy due to the complex anatomical ...
