The phase diagram of neutral quark matter : self-consistent treatment of quark masses [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
We study the phase diagram of dense, locally neutral three-flavor quark matter within the framework of the Nambu--Jona-Lasinio model. In the analysis, dynamically generated quark masses are taken into account self-consistently.

Two-Face(s): ionized and neutral gas winds in the local Universe [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
We present a comprehensive study of the Na I $\lambda$5890, 5895 (Na I D) resonant lines in the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS, DR7) spectroscopic sample to look for neutral gas outflows in the local galaxies.

Hands‐on protocol for preparing water‐soluble fractions from agri‐food samples for NMR‐based metabolomics analysis

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This research protocol outlines a workflow for nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR)‐based metabolomics in the agri‐food sector. Using two case studies—strawberry leaves (solid matrix) and wine (liquid matrix)—it details the procedures for sample preparation, data acquisition, and processing.

Plane-selective manipulations of nuclear spin qubits in a three-dimensional optical tweezer array

open access: yesPhysical Review Research
One of the central challenges for a practical fault-tolerant quantum computer is scalability. A three-dimensional structure of optical tweezer arrays offers the potential for scaling up neutral atom processors.

Regular and chaotic orbits near a massive magnetic dipole

open access: yes, 2012
Within the framework of Bonnor's exact solution describing a massive magnetic dipole, we study the motion of neutral and electrically charged test particles. In dependence on the Bonnor spacetime parameters, we determine regions enabling the existence of

Engineering tandem VHHs to target different epitopes to enhance antibody‐dependent cell‐mediated cytotoxicity

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Tandem VHH targeting distinct EGFR epitopes were engineered into a monovalent bispecific antibody (7D12‐EGA1‐Fc) with more potent ADCC without increasing affinity to EGFR. Structural modeling of 7D12‐EGA1‐Fc showed cross‐linking of separate EGFR domains to enhance CD16a engagement on NK cells.

UC and BUC plane partitions

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields
This paper is concerned with the investigation of UC and BUC plane partitions based upon the fermion calculus approach. We construct generalized the vertex operators in terms of free charged fermions and neutral fermions and present the interlacing ...

dUTPase is essential in zebrafish development and possesses several single‐nucleotide variants with pronounced structural and functional consequences

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
dUTPases are involved in balancing the appropriate nucleotide pools. We showed that dUTPase is essential for normal development in zebrafish. The different zebrafish genomes contain several single‐nucleotide variations (SNPs) of the dut gene. One of the dUTPase variants displayed drastically lower protein stability and catalytic efficiency as compared ...

Chemically activating MoS2 via spontaneous atomic palladium interfacial doping towards efficient hydrogen evolution

open access: yesNature Communications, 2018
While water reduction may provide a carbon-neutral means to produce hydrogen gas, there is a scarcity of efficient, earth-abundant electrocatalysts. Here, the authors add palladium into MoS2 materials to activate and stabilize the conductive basal plane ...

Generalized Poincar\'{e} Half-Planes

open access: yes, 2019
In this note, we give some generalisations of the classical Poincar\'{e} upper half-plane, which is the most popular model of hyperbolic plane geometry.
