Characterization of polymer-polymer type charge-transfer (CT) blend membranes for fuel cell application

open access: yesData in Brief, 2018
The data presented in this article are related to polymer-polymer type charge-transfer blend membranes for fuel cell application. The visible spectra of the charge-transfer (CT) blend membranes indicated formation of CT complex in the blend membranes ...

The planar cell polarity protein Vangl2 interacts with the PDZ‐domains of Scribble but not with a unique PDZ‐like domain in Inturned

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

A New Model of Chemical Bonding in Ionic Melts

open access: yes, 2012
We developed a new physical model to predict macroscopic properties of inorganic molten systems using a realistic description of inter-atomic interactions.

Emotion words and categories: evidence from lexical decision [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
We examined the categorical nature of emotion word recognition. Positive, negative, and neutral words were presented in lexical decision tasks. Word frequency was additionally manipulated.

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Interfacial dipole engineering by self-assembled molecules in n-i-p and p-i-n perovskite solar cells

open access: yesNature Communications
Self-assembled molecules are widely used as bottom interfacial layers in inverted perovskite solar cells, yet their application to perovskite top surfaces remains poorly understood.

A radio Search for high redshift HI absorption [PDF]

open access: yes, 1995
Ground based optical observations have yielded considerable information on the statistics of damped-lyman alpha systems. In particular these systems are known to be the dominant repository of the observed neutral gas at high redshift.

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Theoretical determination of lifetimes of metastable states in Sc III and Y III

open access: yes, 2007
Lifetimes of the first two metastable states in Sc^{2+} and Y^{2+} are determined using the relativistic coupled-cluster theory. There is a considerable interest in studying the electron correlation effects in these ions as though their electronic ...

pH‐mediated activation of the lysosomal arginine sensor SLC38A9

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Cells monitor nutrient levels via the lysosomal transporter SLC38A9 to activate the mechanistic target of rapamycin complex 1 (mTORC1). This study reveals that SLC38A9 function is regulated by pH. We identified histidine 544 as a critical pH sensor that undergoes conformational changes to control amino acid efflux from lysosomes; therefore, it ...
