Neutrinos from the Early Universe and Physics Beyond Standard Models [PDF]
Neutrino oscillations present the only robust example of experimentally detected physics beyond the standard model. This review discusses the established and several hypothetical beyond standard models neutrino characteristics and their cosmological effects and constraints.

Neutrino and anti-neutrino transport in accretion disks
We numerically solve the one dimensional Boltzmann equation of the neutrino and anti-neutrino transport in accretion disks and obtain the fully energy dependent and direction dependent neutrino and anti-neutrino emitting spectra, under condition that the

Many modern detector systems require structured scintillators in combination with photo‐detectors. This requirement can be fulfilled by 3D printing plastic scintillators which becomes more and more relevant. However, the resolution and surface quality of 1‐photon‐based 3D printing techniques are not sufficient for many applications.

Neutrino oscillation physics with a neutrino factory [PDF]
Data from atmospheric and solar neutrinos indicate that there are at least three neutrino types involved in oscillation phenomena. Even if the corresponding neutrino mass scales are very different, the inevitable reference to mixing between more than two neutrino types has profound consequences on the planning of the accelerator experiments suggested ...

Neutrino oscillations: brief history and present status [PDF]
A brief review of the problem of neutrino masses and oscillations is given. In the beginning we present an early history of neutrino masses, mixing and oscillations. Then we discuss all possibilities of neutrino masses and mixing (neutrino mass terms). The phenomenology of neutrino oscillations in vacuum is considered in some details.

A Brief, Biased View of Neutron Star Cooling
ABSTRACT This is a concise and non‐technical review of topics related to neutron star (NS) cooling, for both young NSs and NSs in low‐mass x‐ray binaries. Neutrino emission from the NS core drives cooling rates, via different processes including Urca processes and pair breaking and formation at the neutron superfluid critical temperature.

Cosmogenic Activation in Double Beta Decay Experiments
Double beta decay is a very rare nuclear process and, therefore, experiments intended to detect it must be operated deep underground and in ultra-low background conditions. Long-lived radioisotopes produced by the previous exposure of materials to cosmic

On the Properties of Neutrinos [PDF]
Our present understanding of neutrino properties is reviewed with a particular emphasis on observable differences between Majorana and Dirac neutrinos. Current and future experimental efforts towards measuring neutrino properties are summarized. Consequences of the Majorana vs.Dirac nature of neutrinos on neutrino masses, neutrino decays, and neutrino ...

Abstract On 11 September 2021, two small thunderstorms developed over the Telescope Array Surface Detector (TASD) that produced an unprecedented number of six downward terrestrial gamma ray flashes (TGFs) within one‐hour timeframe. The TGFs occurred during the initial stage of negative cloud‐to‐ground flashes whose return strokes had increasingly large
