Seesaw mechanism in three flavors [PDF]
We advance a method used to analyse the neutrino properties (masses and mixing) in the seesaw mechanism. Assuming the hierarchical Dirac and light neutrino masses we establish rather simple relations between the light and the heavy neutrino parameters in

Four-neutrino MS2 mixing [PDF]
We present a simple scheme of mixing of four neutrinos that can accommodate the results of all neutrino oscillation experiments, the observed abundances of primordial elements and the current upper bound for the effective Majorana neutrino mass in neutrinoless double-beta decay (assuming that massive neutrinos are Majorana particles).

Invisible Labor and the “Ghost Particle”: Underground Physics at the Kolar Gold Fields**
Abstract When cosmic rays—high‐energy particles from outer space—encounter the Earth's atmosphere, they produce particles called neutrinos. To detect them, physicists go underground inside deep mines where the overlying rock can filter out the cosmic‐ray background radiation.

Final results of the search for ν μ → ν e oscillations with the OPERA detector in the CNGS beam
The OPERA experiment has discovered the tau neutrino appearance in the CNGS muon neutrino beam, in agreement with the 3 neutrino flavour oscillation hypothesis.

Human flaws and logical tools in engineering
Abstract This paper explores the limitations of human cognition, especially in engineering research, emphasizing the need for mathematical models and methods to guide decision‐making and theory validation. While human cognition excels in certain tasks, it is prone to biases that can distort our understanding.

CP-conserving SO(3) parameterization of the neutrino mixing matrix
The pattern of neutrino mixing, usually parameterized by the Pontecorvo-Maki-Nakagawa- Sakata UPMNS matrix, still remains a striking puzzle in particle physics. UPMNS is one of six possible products of multiplying three Euler matrices.

Two Micron‐Size Dark Dimensions
Abstract Two extra dimensions of micron scale might simultaneously address the gauge and cosmological hierarchy problems. In this paper various observational bounds in scenarios with one and two large extra dimensions are examined, to see if they are compatible with the micron scale.

New limits on neutrino non-unitary mixings based on prescribed singular values
Singular values are used to construct physically admissible 3-dimensional mixing matrices characterized as contractions. Depending on the number of singular values strictly less than one, the space of the 3-dimensional mixing matrices can be split into ...
