Unitarity and the three flavor neutrino mixing matrix [PDF]
Unitarity is a fundamental property of any theory required to ensure we work in a theoretically consistent framework. In comparison with the quark sector, experimental tests of unitarity for the 3x3 neutrino mixing matrix are considerably weaker. It must

Abstract Fractures evolve in time through thermal‐hydraulic‐mechanical‐chemical (THMC) processes that alter their long‐range hydraulic transport properties and modify subsurface behavior and activities. The location of subsurface fractures makes it necessary to use remote sensing techniques such as passive or active seismic monitoring for fracture ...

Loop level constraints on Seesaw neutrino mixing [PDF]
A bstractWe perform a detailed study of the importance of loop corrections when deriving bounds on heavy-active neutrino mixing in the context of general Seesaw mechanisms with extra heavy right-handed neutrinos.

Invisible Labor and the “Ghost Particle”: Underground Physics at the Kolar Gold Fields**
Abstract When cosmic rays—high‐energy particles from outer space—encounter the Earth's atmosphere, they produce particles called neutrinos. To detect them, physicists go underground inside deep mines where the overlying rock can filter out the cosmic‐ray background radiation.

Improved measurements of the neutrino mixing angle θ13 with the Double Chooz detector [PDF]
A bstractThe Double Chooz experiment presents improved measurements of the neutrino mixing angle θ13 using the data collected in 467.90 live days from a detector positioned at an average distance of 1050 m from two reactor cores at the Chooz nuclear ...

Lorentz invariance for mixed neutrinos [PDF]
We show that a proper field theoretical treatment of mixed (Dirac) neutrinos leads to non-trivial dispersion relations for the flavor states. We analyze such a situation in the framework of the non-linear relativity schemes recently proposed by Magueijo and Smolin.

Human flaws and logical tools in engineering
Abstract This paper explores the limitations of human cognition, especially in engineering research, emphasizing the need for mathematical models and methods to guide decision‐making and theory validation. While human cognition excels in certain tasks, it is prone to biases that can distort our understanding.

Neutrino mixing with nonzero θ13 and CP violation in the 3-3-1 model based on S4 flavor symmetry [PDF]
We propose a 3-3-1 model with neutral fermions based on A4 flavor symmetry responsible for fermion masses and mixings with nonzero θ13. To get realistic neutrino mixing, we just add a new SU(3)L triplet being in 3 under A4. The neutrinos get small masses

Coherent elastic neutrino nucleus scattering as a probe of aZ′through kinetic and mass mixing effects [PDF]
We examine the current constraints and future sensitivity of Coherent Elastic Neutrino-Nucleus Scattering (CE$\nu$NS) experiments to mixing scenarios involving a $Z^\prime$ which interacts via portals with the Standard Model.
