SARS-CoV-2 Inactivation Simulation Using 14 MeV Neutron Irradiation
The SARS-CoV-2 virus is deadly, contagious, can cause COVID-19 disease, and endangers public health and safety. The development of SARS-CoV-2 inactivation technology is crucial and imminent in current pandemic period. Neutron radiation is usually used to

Neutron lifetime puzzle and neutron–mirror neutron oscillation [PDF]
The discrepancy between the neutron lifetimes measured in the beam and trap experiments can be explained via the neutron $n$ conversion into mirror neutron $n'$, its dark partner from parallel mirror sector, provided that $n$ and $n'$ have a tiny mass splitting order $10^{-7}$ eV.

MTS-6 detectors calibration by using 239Pu-Be neutron source
Background: Thermoluminescent detectors, type MTS-6, containing isotope 6Li (lithium) are sensitive in the range of thermal neutron energy; the 239Pu-Be (plutonium-and-beryllium) source emits neutrons in the energy range from 1 to 11 MeV. These seemingly

The neutron is largely spherical and incompressible in atomic nuclei. These two properties are however challenged in the extreme pressure environment of a neutron star. Our variational computation within the Cornell model of Coulomb gauge QCD shows that the neutron (and also the Δ3/2 baryon) can adopt cubic symmetry at an energy cost of about 150 MeV.

Sparse-View Neutron CT Reconstruction Using a Modified Weighted Total Difference Minimization Method
Indirect neutron imaging is an effective method for nondestructive testing of spent nuclear fuel elements. Considering the difficulty of obtaining experimental data in a high-radiation environment and the characteristic of high noise of neutron images ...

The evolutions of a neutron star’s rotation and magnetic field (B-field) have remained unsolved puzzles for over half a century. We ascribe the rotational braking torques of pulsar to both components, the standard magnetic dipole radiation (MDR) and ...

Neutron skins and neutron stars [PDF]
The neutron-skin thickness of heavy nuclei provides a fundamental link to the equation of state of neutron-rich matter, and hence to the properties of neutron stars. The Lead Radius Experiment ("PREX") at Jefferson Laboratory has recently provided the first model-independence evidence on the existence of a neutron-rich skin in 208Pb.
