Gadolinium as a Neutron Capture Therapy Agent

Medical Physics, 1992
The clinical results of treating brain tumors with boron neutron capture therapy are very encouraging. Researchers around the world are once again making efforts to develop this therapeutic modality. Gadolinium‐157 is one of the nuclides that holds interesting properties of being a neutron capture therapy agent.

Optimization of Boron and Neutron Delivery for Neutron Capture Therapy

Pigment Cell Research, 1989
A number of groups in the United States have received funding that will permit evaluation of the clinical efficacy of the neutron capture therapy (NCT) procedure. Various reactors are being modified to allow the construction of an epithermal neutron beam.At the Brookhaven Medical Research Reactor (BMRR), the patient irradiation facility is being ...

Neutron Capture Therapy

JAMA: The Journal of the American Medical Association, 1965
To the Editor:— In the Sept 6 issue ( 193 : adv p 33, 1965) a Medical News item "Neutron Capture Therapy" states, "At least two other groups are at work on neutron capture therapy... " This is indeed the case although the statement earlier in the article, "the method, under development since 1958...," is misleading.

The Neutron Capture Process

1983
The nature of the neutron capture process depends on the coupling of the incident neutron with target nucleons. Weak, intermediate and strong coupling assumptions are discussed which lead to the application of single particle, doorway and statistical models. While the Bohr statistical model has widespread application, there is abundant evidence for the
