Molecular dynamics decomposition of temperature-dependent elastic neutron scattering by a protein solution

open access: yes, 2003
Molecular dynamics simulations are performed of bovine pancreatic trypsin inhibitor in a cryosolution over a range of temperatures from 80 to 300 K and the origins identified of elastic dynamic neutron scattering from the solution. The elastic scattering

Harnessing Phase Separation for the Development of High‐Performance Hydrogels

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Hydrogels are indispensable for the development of next‐generation bioelectronics, soft robotics, and biomedical devices, where their mechanical properties determine performance and reliability. Among strategies to enhance hydrogel mechanics, phase separation enables controlled heterogeneity resulting in gel networks that are reinforced by ...

Structural and Compositional Effects on the Scintillation Properties of Fast Emitting Metal‐Organic Frameworks

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The crystalline structure, the atomic numbers of the constituent elementsand the size of MOF crystals each influence their photoluminescence and scintillation properties in distinct ways. Together, these factors provide valuable guidelines for designing systems with optimized performance and tunable timing characteristics, arising from the synergistic ...

Rational Design of Weakly‐Solvating Molecules for Salt‐In‐Pre‐Ionic‐Liquid Electrolytes for Li Metal Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The weakly‐solvating TFMSPyr electrolyte tailors the Li+ solvation structure by suppressing solvent coordination and promoting anion‐dominated solvation. This unique solvation environment induces preferential anion decomposition at electrode interfaces, forming robust inorganic rich S/CEI.

Mixing‐Driven Defects and Composition Evolution in Multi‐Material Metal Additive Manufacturing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Operando synchrotron X‐ray imaging coupled with high‐fidelity multiphysics modeling uncovers how inter‐material mixing reshapes keyhole dynamics and drives distinct pore‐formation pathways in multi‐material laser powder bed fusion (LPBF). Composition‐dependent instabilities trigger defects, whereas rescanning suppresses porosity and homogenizes Cu ...

Diffusion Approximation to Neutron Transport Equation with First Kind of Chebyshev Polynomials

open access: yesSüleyman Demirel Üniversitesi Fen-Edebiyat Fakültesi Fen Dergisi, 2015
: The first kind of Chebyshev polynomials are used for the series expansion of the neutron angular flux in neutron transport theory. The first order approximation known as the diffusion approximation is applied to one-dimensional neutron transport ...

Wide Temperature Zero Thermal Expansion in Al Matrix Composites with High Thermal Conductivity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Strain engineering strategy is implemented on the negative thermal expansion (NTE) phase Zn1.6Mg0.4P2O7 within composites, where Al matrix‐induced compressive strain drives uniform polyhedral and unit cell evolution, thereby enabling broad and consistent thermal compensation efficacy and obtaining good thermal performance.

Validation of DRAGON4/DONJON4 simulation methodology for a typical MNSR by calculating reactivity feedback coefficient and neutron flux

open access: yesResults in Physics, 2018
The MNSR is a pool type research reactor, which is difficult to model because of the importance of neutron leakage. The aim of this study is to evaluate a 2-D transport model for the reactor compatible with the latest release of the DRAGON code and 3-D ...
