A multifunctional terahertz (THz) platform is demonstrated, in a model material Fe4Nb2O9, exhibiting a large intrinsic THz phase shift alongside distinct THz magnon excitations in its antiferromagnetic phase. This coexistence of phase modulation and spin dynamics offers a promising pathway toward integrated THz communication and magnonic computation ...

Neutronics simulations for the design of neutron flux monitors in SPARC
This paper presents the development and application of high-fidelity neutronic models of the SPARC tokamak for the design of neutron flux monitors (NFM) for application during plasma operations. NFMs measure the neutron flux in the tokamak hall, which is related to fusion power via calibration.

Ferroelectric Rashba semiconductors promise ultralow‐power devices but lack industry‐quality films. This work demonstrates CMOS‐compatible fabrication of high‐quality α‐GeTe(111) films via magnetron sputtering, enabled by a 5 nm Sb2Te3 seed layer. Structural and ferroelectric analyses show robust, switchable polarization comparable to MBE films, paving

Low energy fusion for a safe and compact neutron source
Neutrons are primarily produced at large international facilities using either spallation reactions or nuclear fission. There is a demand for small scale neutron production for use at hospitals and borders for a variety of applications.

Mixing‐Driven Defects and Composition Evolution in Multi‐Material Metal Additive Manufacturing
Operando synchrotron X‐ray imaging coupled with high‐fidelity multiphysics modeling uncovers how inter‐material mixing reshapes keyhole dynamics and drives distinct pore‐formation pathways in multi‐material laser powder bed fusion (LPBF). Composition‐dependent instabilities trigger defects, whereas rescanning suppresses porosity and homogenizes Cu ...

Wide Temperature Zero Thermal Expansion in Al Matrix Composites with High Thermal Conductivity
Strain engineering strategy is implemented on the negative thermal expansion (NTE) phase Zn1.6Mg0.4P2O7 within composites, where Al matrix‐induced compressive strain drives uniform polyhedral and unit cell evolution, thereby enabling broad and consistent thermal compensation efficacy and obtaining good thermal performance.
