Domain Engineering and Anisotropic Domain‐Wall Photovoltaic Effects in Ferroelectric SnS
The bulk photovoltaic effect at domain walls in the in‐plane ferroelectric 2D semiconductor SnS is investigated using periodic domain structures. Unlike conventional oxide ferroelectrics, domain walls of SnS do not contribute to photocurrent generation perpendicular to the domain walls.

Effect of neutron irradiation on neat epoxy resin stability in shielding applications
Epoxy resin is a thermoset polymer and is one of the main candidates for radiation shielding application. In this investigation, carbon, hydrogen, and nitrogen analysis showed that the presence of the light element of nitrogen in cured epoxy could lead ...

Neutron Irradiation Techniques [PDF]
The He-3 “crisis” has become a fact in the last decade and large scale neutron detectors based on He-3 technologies have become unaffordable. This new He-3 reality has resulted in a major effort worldwide to develop replacement neutron-detector technologies.

Atomistic Mechanisms Triggered by Joule Heating Effects in Metallic Cu‐Bi Nanowires for Spintronics
Bi doped metallic Cu nanowires are promising for spintronics thanks to the stabilization of a giant spin Hall effect. However, heat resulting from current injection forces Bi to leave solution, forcing segregation into monoatomic decorations which evolve into coherent crystalline aggregates.

Generating Unconventional Spin‐Orbit Torques With Patterned Phase Gradients in Tungsten Thin Films
ABSTRACT A key aim in spintronics is to achieve current‐induced magnetization switching via spin‐orbit torques without external magnetic fields. For this, the focus of recent work has been on introducing controlled lateral gradients across ferromagnet/heavy‐metal devices, giving variations in thickness, composition, or interface quality.

Neutron and .GAMMA.-irradiation of bacteriophage M13 DNA: Use of standard neutron irradiation facility(SNIF). [PDF]
We describe here the use of the Van de Graaff accelerator as a source of high energy neutrons for biological irradiation. Single-stranded bacteriophage M13 DNA was chosen as the system to determine the relative biological effectiveness of monoenergetic neutrons.

Anomalous Crystallinity and Magnetism in Chemically Disordered Coherent Heterostructures
Coherent isostructural high‐entropy oxide heterostructures are realized despite remarkable >5% interfacial lattice distortion. The resulting buried interface exhibits abrupt valence reconstruction which contributes to 2 × enhanced exchange bias in the heterostructure relative to constituent layers, demonstrating how chemical disorder enabled anomalous ...
