Influence of neutron irradiation on deep levels in Ge-doped (010) β-Ga2O3 layers grown by plasma-assisted molecular beam epitaxy

open access: yesAPL Materials, 2019
The impact of high energy neutron irradiation on the creation of specific radiation-induced deep level defect states and the ensuing influence of these defects on the electronic properties of (010) β-Ga2O3, doped with Ge and grown by plasma-assisted ...

Spatial Engineering of Gas Diffusion Layers Overcomes Mass Transport Limitations in Fuel Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Mass transport limitations at high current densities hinder polymer electrolyte fuel cell (PEFC) performance due to inefficient water management and reactant distribution. Gas diffusion layer (GDL) perforation offers a potential solution as an alternative to complex flow‐field modifications.

Neutron Irradiation of 237Np

open access: yesJournal of the Atomic Energy Society of Japan / Atomic Energy Society of Japan, 1962
Irradiation of 237Np target in JRR-1 and subsequent activity measurement clarified that 238Np was formed as a consequence of neutron capture. The identification was carried out by tracing the decay and by β- and γ-spectrometry. Gamma-rays due to fission products did not interfere with the above measurements.

Carboranyl‐Curcuminoids for the Neutron Capture‐Based Treatment of Amyloid Aggregates in Alzheimer's Disease

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The 10B‐enriched monocarbonyl analog of curcumin (BMAC) 10B‐9 enables site‐specific Boron Neutron Capture Therapy (BNCT) on amyloid‐β (Aβ) fibrils. Neutron irradiation induces histidine oxidation and fibril destabilization, as revealed by 1H‐NMR and FESEM analyses.

Tunable Negative Thermal Expansion in Fe/Cr‐Substituted Nd2Co17 Compounds via Magnetoelastic Coupling

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study achieves anisotropic thermal expansion tuning in Nd2(Co1‐xFex)17‐yCry compounds via a magnetoelastic strategy. Variable‐temperature synchrotron X‐ray diffraction reveals that increased Fe content induces switchable lattice responses. Compositional control reduces the volume expansion coefficient αV by 20% (x═0.7) and modulates TC (442–625 K),

New High‐Tc Charge‐Transfer Multiferroicity in the Quasi‐2D Antiferromagnet CrSbS3

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Low‐dimensional magnets, particularly 2D systems, offer a rich platform for realizing unconventional multiferroic mechanisms, especially when multiple polarization channels coexist. In the quasi‐2D antiferromagnet CrSbS3, which crystallizes in the centrosymmetric orthorhombic space group Pnma and orders magnetically at TN ≈ 90 K, two ...
