This study achieves anisotropic thermal expansion tuning in Nd2(Co1‐xFex)17‐yCry compounds via a magnetoelastic strategy. Variable‐temperature synchrotron X‐ray diffraction reveals that increased Fe content induces switchable lattice responses. Compositional control reduces the volume expansion coefficient αV by 20% (x═0.7) and modulates TC (442–625 K),

NEUTRON AND GAMMA ALBEDO EVALUATION AT AN IRRADIATION FACILITY
Abstract The irradiation facility of the University of Pisa (UNIPI) is a neutron and gamma irradiation facility of the University of Pisa used for calibration purposes and to evaluate detectors and dosemeters for mixed neutron and gamma fields. The facility consists of a fairly large room (5.0 × 7.8 × 2.5 m3) with concrete walls and roof

New High‐Tc Charge‐Transfer Multiferroicity in the Quasi‐2D Antiferromagnet CrSbS3
ABSTRACT Low‐dimensional magnets, particularly 2D systems, offer a rich platform for realizing unconventional multiferroic mechanisms, especially when multiple polarization channels coexist. In the quasi‐2D antiferromagnet CrSbS3, which crystallizes in the centrosymmetric orthorhombic space group Pnma and orders magnetically at TN ≈ 90 K, two ...

Engineering of Crystal and Domain Structures in Epitaxial Y:HfO2 Thin Films by YSZ Substrate Miscut
We investigate how YSZ substrate miscut influences crystal structure and domain formation in epitaxial Y‐doped HfO2 thin films. Using magnetron sputtering, high‐resolution X‐ray diffraction, atomic‐resolution scanning transmission electron microscopy, and first‐principles calculations, we systematically examine the characteristics of thickness‐ and ...

Bridging Ion and Neutron Irradiation: A Predictive Framework for Swelling in Structural Alloys
Advanced nuclear energy systems critically rely on the irradiation tolerance of structural materials in the reactor core. However, quantitatively predicting reactor-relevant, high-dose neutron swelling from low-dose neutron data or high-dose-rate heavy ...

Defects in Neutron-irradiated ZnO (I)
Abstract After irradiation with fast neutrons, several paramagnetic centers have been observed in ZnO by ESR. They result from electrons trapped at oxygen vacancies and from holes trapped at more complex defect associates.
