Chemically Doped Conductive Polymers for Wearable Health Monitoring

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Among conductive polymers, poly(3,4‐ethylenedioxythiophene):poly(styrenesulfonate) (PEDOT:PSS), polyaniline (PANI), and polypyrrole (PPy) are the most studied and applied. Chemical doping significantly boosts intrinsic conductivity and mechanical robustness.

8-inch nano-polycrystalline hBN for neutron radiography

open access: yesPhotoniX
Boron-based scintillators have attracted significant attention due to their high thermal neutron capture cross-section. However, large-area pure boron-based scintillators remain unexplored.

Degradation Mechanisms in PEM Water Electrolysis: Diagnosis and Impact

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
This review provides an analysis of degradation mechanisms in proton electrolyte membrane water electrolyzers (PEMWE), focusing on all key components. It discusses diagnostic and measurement techniques for evaluating degradation, less‐studied mechanisms, and an expert survey.

Layer‐Dependent Antiferromagnetic Chern and Axion Insulating States in UOTe

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Layer‐dependent topological phases are identified in the van der Waals antiferromagnet UOTe. Ab initio calculations reveal bilayer UOTe as a rare example of high‐temperature antiferromagnetic Chern insulator with quantized Hall conductivity and near‐zero net magnetization, while odd‐layer films exhibit axion‐insulator‐like behavior with quantized spin ...

Anomalous X-ray diffraction studies of ion transport in K+ channels

open access: yesNature Communications, 2018
The number of K+ occupied binding sites in the selectivity filter of potassium ion channels is still under debate. Here, the authors collect diffraction data on the K+ selective NaK channel NaK2K at a wavelength of 3.35 Å, close to the K absorption edge,

Direct Growth of Transparent Boron Nitride Neutron Shielding Layer for Space Window

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Direct growth of sp2‐sp3 hybridized BN (HBN) on quartz, enabled by an h‐BN buffer, produces transparent and stable films up to 80 µm thick with high transmittance and strong neutron shielding, making HBN a promising candidate for space windows in long‐term lunar missions.

Displacive In‐Plane Ferroelectricity with Domain‐Specific Curie Temperature in Van der Waals Semiconductors

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Temperature‐dependent electron diffraction on tin monochalcogenides demonstrates a gradual displacive transformation between ferroelectric and paraelectric phases with significant variability in lattice constants and Curie temperature (TC). Periodic variations exist even between domains in individual crystals, implying a domain‐specific Curie ...
