Recycling End‐of‐Life Solid Oxide Cell Interconnect Assemblies into Commercial‐Grade AISI 304 Stainless Steels

open access: yessteel research international, EarlyView.
This study validates a recycling pathway for converting interconnect assemblies from end‐of‐life SOC stacks into commercial‐grade AISI 304 steels. Using scrap‐based steelmaking operations, austenitic cast steels with <4.0% δ‐ferrite are successfully produced.

Microplastic Detectability Investigation in Soils Using X‐Ray Microtomography

open access: yesX-Ray Spectrometry, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT X‐ray microtomography (microCT) is a promising tool for investigating microplastic (MP) contamination in soils, offering non‐destructive 3D visualization and quantitative analysis of particles embedded in complex matrices. This study evaluated its applicability by mixing plastic fragments (PET, PEHD, PS, and PP) with humus‐rich and sandy soils

Quantum refinement with electron diffraction and X‐ray free‐electron laser data: comparative study of ribonucleotide reductase dimetal site

open access: yesJournal of Applied Crystallography, EarlyView.
For the first time quantum refinement has been performed with X‐ray free‐electron laser and microcrystal electron diffraction data for the dinuclear iron site in the R2a protein of ribonucleotide reductase. The method is shown to work well and can be used to determine the protonation state of the bridging solvent molecule and deduce photoreduction in ...

Non‐reciprocal spin excitations across the skyrmion–paramagnetic phase transition in MnSi

open access: yesJournal of Applied Crystallography, EarlyView.
Inelastic neutron scattering shows that the non‐reciprocal nature of the magnons in the skyrmion phase of MnSi is maintained for high temperatures well beyond the skyrmion–paramagnetic phase transition. The magnetic excitations of the skyrmion lattice in MnSi comprise a multitude of individual modes, which are non‐reciprocal and thereby propagate ...
