10B Concentration, Phantom Size and Tumor Location Dependent Dose Enhancement and Neutron Spectra in Boron Neutron Capture Therapy [PDF]
Background: The amount of average dose enhancement in tumor loaded with 10B may vary due to various factors in boron neutron capture therapy. Objective: This study aims to evaluate dose enhancement in tumor loaded with 10B under influence of various ...

Secondary Radiation in Ion Therapy and Theranostics: A Review
Ion therapy has emerged as one of the preferred treatment procedures in some selective indication of cancer. The actual dose delivered to the target volume may differ from the planned dose due to wrong positioning of the patient and organ movement during

The study of neutron spectra in water bath from Pb target irradiated by 250MeV/u protons
The spallation neutrons were produced by the irradiation of Pb with 250 MeV protons. The Pb target was surrounded by water which was used to slow down the emitted neutrons.

High‐Entropy Magnetism of Murunskite
The study of murunskite (K2FeCu3S4) reveals that its magnetic and orbital order emerges in a simple I4/mmm crystal structure with complete disorder in the transition metal positions. Mixed‐valence Fe ions randomly occupy 1/4 of the tetrahedral sites, with the remaining 3/4 being filled by non‐magnetic Cu+ ions.

Time-of-flight discrimination between gamma-rays and neutrons by neural networks
In gamma-ray spectroscopy, a number of neutrons are emitted from the nuclei together with the gamma-rays and these neutrons influence gamma-ray spectra.

Experimental and Theoretical Confirmation of Covalent Bonding in α‐Pu
From a combination of Reverse Monte Carlo dynamic rigid body fitting to the pair distribution functional and novel density functional approaches, the existence of covalent bonding is confirmed in α‐plutonium alongside other bonding types (i.e. mixed bonding schemes).

Search for neutron–mirror neutron oscillations in a laboratory experiment with ultracold neutrons [PDF]
Mirror matter is considered as a candidate for dark matter. In connection with this an experimental search for neutron - mirror neutron (nn') transitions has been carried out using storage of ultracold neutrons in a trap with different magnetic fields. As a result, a new limit for the neutron - mirror neutron oscillation time has been obtained, tau_osc
