Neutrophil and Band Counts in the Diagnosis of Neonatal Infections
Pediatrics, 1974A system has been developed for the evaluation of hematological data in the newborn. Normal values were established for segmented (neutrophil) and nonsegmented (band) polymorphonuclear leukocytes in the peripheral blood of 169 healthy full-term infants during the first five days of life.

The effects of anesthesia and surgery on count and function of neutrophils
Journal of Anesthesia, 1989The effects of anesthesia and surgery on neutrophil count, chemotaxis and neutrophil alkaline phosphatase (NAP) score were investigated in 10 patients who had elective spine surgery. Plasma levels of adrenaline, noradrenaline and cortisol were measured and correlations between hormonal levels and neutrophil count and function were assessed.

Increased Neutrophil Count in Nascent Metabolic Syndrome
Metabolic Syndrome and Related Disorders, 2013The alarming increase in the prevalence of metabolic syndrome globally demands serious attention. Recently, we reported increased cellular dysfunction of subcutaneous adipose tissue and monocytes contributing to the insulin resistance and increased inflammation in nascent metabolic syndrome.

EFFECT OF TERIFLUNOMIDE ON LYMPHOCYTE AND NEUTROPHIL COUNTS
Journal of Neurology, Neurosurgery & Psychiatry, 2015IntroductionTeriflunomide is an immunomodulator known to decrease the proliferation of stimulated lymphocytes via inhibition of dihydro-orotate dehydrogenase. Lymphocyte/neutrophil counts were assessed in pooled data from one phase 2 and three phase 3 (TEMSO, TOWER, and TOPIC) placebo-controlled studies.MethodsPatients were randomized to receive once ...

Vitamin B3 boosts neutrophil counts
Nature Medicine, 2009A molecular pathway requiring vitamin B3 increases the production of neutrophils (pages 151–158). These findings could lead to new ways to treat neutropenias, diseases involving low neutrophil counts.
