Neutrophil-to-Lymphocyte Ratio, Platelet-to-Lymphocyte Ratio and Heart Failure
Dear Editor, the recent report on “Neutrophil-to-Lymphocyte Ratio (NLR), Platelet-to-Lymphocyte Ratio (PLR) and Heart Failure” is very interesting.1 Durmus et al.1 reported that “NLR can be used to predict mortality during the follow-up of HF patients.” Indeed, the use of a new parameter for predicting heart failure is very interesting.

Neutrophil–Lymphocyte Ratio in Patients with Adenoidectomy
Obstructive Sleep Apnea syndrome (OSA) is the most serious consequence of adenoid hypertrophy (AH) and it is one of the most common reasons of nocturnal hypoxia in children. There is some information about the relationship between childhood OSA and atherosclerosis or cardiac diseases.

The role of platelet to lymphocyte ratio and neutrophil to lymphocyte ratio in ulcerative colitis [PDF]
Background/Aims: Neutrophil to lymphocyte ratio (NLR) and platelet to lymphocyte ratio (PLR) can serve as biomarkers for diagnosing and assessing disease activity in ulcerative colitis (UC). We investigated their clinical significance in UC.Methods: We analyzed 48 patients with UC who underwent measurement of fecal calprotectin (FC) and endoscopy and ...

Neutrophil lymphocyte ratio in obese adolescents
Obesity is a growing health problem in most of the developed countries. It is associated with many chronic diseases, affecting particularly endocrine and cardiovascular systems. Inflammation plays a key role in pathophysiology of obesity. In this study, we aimed to investigate the inflammation status in obese children using neutrophil/lymphocyte ratio ...

Neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio, platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio and their association with the severity of depression and as biomarkers for suicidal behaviour among patients diagnosed with depression [PDF]
Background: Depression has a significant impact on a person's quality of life and is a leading cause of death by suicide. Growing evidence points to a function for the immune and inflammatory systems in the pathophysiology of depression.

The neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio: a narrative review [PDF]
Cellular-mediated inflammatory response, lymphocytes, neutrophils, and monocytes are increasingly being recognised as having an important role in tumorigenesis and carcinogenesis. In this context, studies have suggested that the neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) can be used as an independent prognostic factor in a variety of cancers. Particularly in
