Ponatinib‐induced neutrophilic panniculitis
Journal of Cutaneous Pathology, 2014Ponatinib is a bcr‐abl tyrosine‐kinase inhibitor (TKI) used to treat resistant and refractory chronic myeloid leukemia and Philadelphia chromosome‐positive acute lymphoblastic leukemia that express bcr‐abl. Neutrophilic panniculitis has been described in rare cases of patients on other TKIs in the same class as ponatinib.

Vemurafenib-induced neutrophilic panniculitis
Melanoma Research, 2012Vemurafenib is a targeted therapy, used in patients with metastatic cutaneous melanoma who carry the BRAF V600E mutation, with a relative reduction of 63% in the risk of death. Several adverse events have been described previously, such as photosensitivity or squamous-cell carcinomas.

Differential diagnosis in neutrophilic lobular panniculitis
European Journal of Dermatology, 2016In this edition of DeRmpath & Clinic, we present the case of a 65-year-old patient, with a past medical history of chronic pancreatitis requiring enzyme supplementation, who developed several non-painful erythematous subcutaneous nodules located on her right upper limb, two weeks after intraabdominal surgery for acute intestinal obstruction.

Self-limiting Ibrutinib-Induced Neutrophilic Panniculitis
The American Journal of Dermatopathology, 2018Abstract: Neutrophilic panniculitis is a relatively rare condition, characterized by predominantly neutrophilic inflammation in the subcutaneous fat. Rarely, neutrophilic panniculitis may be induced by chemotherapeutics or targeted molecular therapies, including the Bruton tyrosine kinase inhibitor ibrutinib.

Neutrophilic tuberculous panniculitis in a patient with polymyositis
Journal of Cutaneous Pathology, 1993The clinical spectrum of cutaneous M. tuberculosis infections is varied and atypical. Once a major cause of death, with the advent of antimicrobial drugs it had, until recently, been an uncommon consideration in the differential diagnosis of cutaneous disorders.

Background: Lobular panniculitis encompasses lupus profundus, atypical lymphocytic lobular panniculitis, erythema induratum and subcutaneous Sweet’s syndrome, while septal panniculitis includes erythema nodosum and fibrosing dermal processes of burn out necrobiosis lipoidica and morphea profundus.

Panniculitis is an inflammatory disorder of the subcutaneous fat, whose diagnosis and classification relies on histologic features, mainly the location of the subcutaneous inflammatory infiltrate (septal, lobular, mixed or vascular) [1]. In the setting of lobular panniculitis in which the inflammation predominantly involves the fat lobules, there is ...

Neutrophilic panniculitis developing after treatment of metastatic melanoma with vemurafenib
Journal of Cutaneous Pathology, 2013Vemurafenib is an inhibitor of BRAF and is used to treat patients with metastatic melanoma who carry a V600E BRAF mutation. Recently, four patients have been described in the literature who developed a neutrophilic panniculitis following treatment with a BRAF inhibitor.

Neutrophilic panniculitis associated with alpha-1-antitrypsin deficiency: an update
British Journal of Dermatology, 2016Neutrophilic panniculitis associated with alpha-1-antitrypsin deficiency (AATD) is a very rare disease. Its estimated prevalence is 1 in 1000 subjects with severe AATD (usually white individuals with a Pi*ZZ genotype). It is manifested clinically by painful recurrent ulcerating subcutaneous nodules, and characterized histologically by dense infiltrates

Neutrophilic Infiltrates in Panniculitis: Comprehensive Review and Diagnostic Algorithm Proposal
The American Journal of Dermatopathology, 2019Abstract:Neutrophilic infiltrates in panniculitis can be seen in different clinical–pathological entities. There are a “mostly neutrophilic inflammatory infiltrate” in some entities classically defined as neutrophilic panniculitis and already included in algorithms, such as enzymatic panniculitis, infective and factitial ones, erythema induratum, or ...
